Summary
Homicide detective Amy Sadler and her new wife, forensic pathologist Lira Ward, are enjoying marital bliss when they are hit with a gruesome new case: Someone is killing couples and families, with most of their rage directed at the wives.
While trying to solve the case, Amy begins receiving threats from someone within the police department who doesn't seem happy about her marriage to Lira.
Amy finds herself desperately trying to uncover who is out to destroy her marriage - because she doesn't want to find out how far they're willing to go.

Way better than Book 1
After the first book did not fully meet my expectations I was positively surprised by this one.
The story was good, the case was thrilling. Although I was sure several times that I already know who the perpetrator is, it then always left me wonderung again whether I may be wrong.
Towards the end there was a twist in the plot that I did not like and that was rather far-fetched, but overall it was a good story. I will listen to the next part!

Excellent sequel
This was a really good sequel to Out of the Shadows! Amy and Lira are now married and still working together, respectively as a police detective and a pathologist. Similarities between the murders of two families make them worry about a new serial killer. And like in the first book in the series, they end up personally involved in the killer’s obsession.
I figured pretty early on what where the story was going but it didn’t matter at all. I really enjoyed the way the author got there, the way it developed. Amy and Lira are great characters, very relatable.
As for the first book, the narrator did a great job with the dialogues, despite the narration being a bit jerky at times.
I was given this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review.
