About this listen
He’s an actor in need of an image makeover. She’s determined to show her ex-fiancé that she’s moved on. A fake relationship between two best friends is the perfect solution. Or is it?
Reese Murphy has been my best friend since before we took our first steps. She’s the yin to my yang. The peanut butter to my jelly. It’s all platonic, of course, as we made a pact years ago that we’d never cross the line.
But then she took a job abroad and moved away for a year. To say I’ve been lost without her would be a massive understatement. She’s finally coming home, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
And then she presents me with a proposition—pretend to be her boyfriend. I am an actor, after all, so it should be a piece of cake. It’s all part of her grand plan to show her ex-fiancé that she’s moved on. My agent wants me to clean up my image, so it would be a win-win for both of us.
But then she moves into my house and prances around in those tiny pajama shorts. There's also the night she catches me alone in the bathroom in a compromising position. And she isn’t in any hurry to leave. We get lost in the moment, and now I can’t think of anything else.
We are way past a gray area at this point. We’ve entered a smoking-hot-I-think-I-might-be-in-love-with-my-best-friend area. The problem is, she still thinks we’re fake dating. And I stopped faking it a long time ago.
This is book four in the Cottonwood Cove series. Each one can be listened to as a complete stand-alone. An HEA is guaranteed!

The Before Sunset Moment!!!
Wow what a beautiful read on a friends to lovers trope. I liked that their journey had challenges that they managed to overcome. The plot was really very good and I loved how they ended up fake dating and it turned it something else. They were written into the stars. The moments between them were so beautiful.
I enjoyed Finn’s family and how they all have each others backs. Finn and Reese’s nicknames for each other are so cute and funny, I liked how original they were. I liked how she was his yin to his yang. They have great chemistry and they bond so well together. This is my first read by the author and I’m so glad to have heard the audio for this one. These characters left me swooning in and in fits of laughter.
I will definitely be reading the authors in the series and most importantly look forward to the next one. Laura Pavlov I love your writing. I’m definitely gonna read all your other books!
The narrators were great and they made the story more enjoyable.

perfect
Well, Finn and Reece might just be my favourite Cottonwood Cove couple.
Finn is beyond swoony. I mean to say that man has never been in a relationship before he sure knows how to be romantic 🥰
I had the biggest goofy grin on my face throughout this book. It was just perfect. It was funny and romantic and swoony and oh so spicy!! Finn definitely brings the dirty talk.
This book was so beautifully written, and the narrators brought it to life phenomenally.
As always, the Reynalds family chats and get togthers were a mixture of snarky comments, good advice, not so good advice, and lots of laugh out loud moments.
I absolutely flew through this, I just couldn't put it down. It's a definite must read.

Loved it!
“You needed me,” I said, kissing the top of her head. “We made a deal years ago. I wasn’t about to break it now.” She tipped her head back to look at me. “You call. I come. And vice versa.”
So we are now at book four in Laura’s Cottonwood Cove series and it’s happy go lucky Finn’s story. He’s featured in all previous books, mainly via the lovable ‘Reynolds Sibling’ group chat. An up and coming actor, he’s just hit the big time with hue new show and first Hollywood film lead. However, Finns getting some unwanted attention and false rumours in the media, all thanks to his co-star, who’s taken a shine to him.
Reece is Finns best friend through and through. From an early age, these two have just clicked and been there for one another. Especially when Reeves was going through illness as a child. Now an interior designer, she’s at a crossroads in her life. Her ex fiancé now has a new relationship, but she wants him to feel how hurt she is. So she hatches a plan with best pal Finn to start a fake relationship. It’s the perfect solution for her to win back her Ex and Finn to get the media off his case.
But we know what’s gonna happen, don’t we lol As these two are MADE FOR EACH OTHER!
Maxine and Jacob did an amazing job bringing these two lovable characters to life. Despite his laid back attitude, Finn is damn passionate and protective of those he loves, and he loves Reece so fiercely…just took him some time to finally realise. Reece too, after wanting the life with the white picket fence, husband and kids, she didn’t realise that the man that was going to make all that happen was her best friend from childhood.
Another amazing instalment in the Cottonwood Cove series, I don’t want it to end!

An enjoyable steamy Read
Loved these two characters😍 Finn and Reese were the best of friends. And when Reese's fiance let's her know (while they are on a break) (Ross and Rachel🤭) that his seeing someone else, Reese is heartbroken. And when her best friend, Finn fetches her in London, she aks him to pretend they are a couple to make her fiance jealous and hopes that he will want her back.
Spending so much time together, pretending they are in love leads to some steamy nights and soon these two can't keep their hands off each other😍😁
Loved the story, loved the characters, although Reese annoyed me from time to time when she wanted her ex back. I wanted to say dude look at the hot sexy guy in front of you🤦♀️😂
The narrators were amazing. I love Jacob Morgan and Maxine Mitchell. They make you feel like you are experiencing everything with the characters😍 These two definitely made me fall more in love with the story and the characters💖

I love this series!
I fully trust in Laura's name! If I see her name on a book I know it's going to be amazing! I was so looking forward to Finn and Reese's book and it was beyond perfect. They may not have realized just how perfect they were together but how they came to that conclusion is a story that will leave your heart smiling! I could not get enough of these two together, every interaction was a blast to experience. The narrators for this book were spot on. Jacob Morgan and Maxine Mitchell were incredible as Finn and Reese. They captured every emotion and situation. These audiobooks are some of the best listening experiences for me. I love these characters and I love their family and friends and I cannot get enough of them. I am so excited for Cage's book and to be with these characters again!

So romantic!
There is nothing better than going back home to Cottonwood Cove. Laura Pavlov has wedged this small town into my heart and every book leaves me wanting more from this town! This book features Reese and Finn. These two have been best friends forever. Through thick and thin, the loyalty and love never falters. What keeps their friendship alive? The pact to never cross the line. But now Reese is moving back to town, just after her long term boyfriend has dumped her. What the natural thing to do? Make him jealous by pretending to be in love with her best friend, Finn of course! And Finn agrees to help her. Anything for Reese. And our story begins. Finn is the ultimate book boyfriend. I don't know if it was the narration or the writing, but he could do no wrong! Always attentive, always there, placing the arm around Reese's shoulder, taking the ribbing from his siblings, he is a diamond. Reese was frustrating, not wanting to cross that line, wanting the easy way out, but it creates that push-pull that makes this listen so good! It's small town, it's best friends to lovers, it's soulmates and it's all the crazy townspeople that have made this place my home. I loved this book and cannot wait for more!
Jacob Morgan won my heart with this one. He had me smiling and tearing up all in the same line! How can he do that? He becomes Finn and creates a character to win my heart. Maxine Mitchell keeps her heart guarded, just waiting to burst with her amazing portrayal of Reese. I loved these two as they told me the story and I enjoyed every minute of their performance.

Beautiful romance story
"Before the Sunset" by Laura Pavlov is a heartwarming addition to the Cottonwood Cove series. This friends-to-lovers romance truly captivates. Finn and Reese, the best of friends, take on the challenge of a fake relationship, leading to a delightful romantic journey. The chemistry between them is undeniable, making you root for their love to bloom.
Pavlov expertly crafts the story, infusing it with tenderness and a touch of humor. The balance between friendship and romance is beautifully portrayed, highlighting the intricacies of relationships. Reese & Finn
Reese and Finn have been best friends forever and have gone through a lot during their friendship but pretend dating was just the thing that made them realise they were perfect for each other and should be together.
This small town, friends to lovers audiobook read by the amazingly talented Jacob Morgan and Maxine Mitchell was just what the romance doctor prescribed.

amazing!
Reese and Finn's relationship is perfection. Now, I admit that friends-to-lovers has always been my favorite trope and Laura Pavlov has written a perfect one. One where the reader gets to see just how in tune and loving they are towards each other as friends and then more so as lovers. The family and supporting cast are also wonderful, with the reader growing besides them from book to book in the series. The whole series thus far has been low angst with copious amounts of emotion, laughs and swoons. The whole series is a must read and this story is just a perfect frosting on that cake of greatness!
Add to it the narration by Maxine Mitchell and Jacob Morgan who perfectly encapsulate the characters, the feels and are able to play all the different characters totally seamlessly? What an auditory experience!
