Great, super cute cozy.
I really enjoyed this. The premise of her having powers complimented the mystery without it overshadowing the story. I also felt all the characters were well developed.

Great story well narrated
This is a great, inventive and entertaining story. Josie goes on the run after discovering corruption at the Library of Congress, moves to the small town of Wilfred, discovers she has magic powers and finds a body. Loved the story, loved the characters and the usual cute pet. Narration by Rebecca Mitchell is excellent, easy to listen to with a decent range. Great start to a series. I will definitely be reading more of these.

fun story, more complex than expected
A fin light hearted story with witchcraft and murder. Well written with more comple. characters than normally found in these kind of stories. I listen to loads of similar stories and this was definitely one of the better written stories. If you enjoy this kind of story this is worth a listen

Spellbinding
I enjoyed this book. It is the first book I have read or listened to by this author but it won't be my last. She has certainly caught my imagination with this book and a witch that gets her powers from books is certainly different. I wouldn't say Josie got very heavily involved in the murder investigation because she was too busy running around trying to save the library but actually with everything going on I enjoyed it more because she didn't. It took a while for us to find out why she took the job in the first place and the reason she was running but that added to the drama. The magic was subtle as she is new to it and like the listen or reader learns as the story unfolds, taking the story up another level. The mystery takes a number of twists and I worked out who the killer was just before they revealed themselves. I would say it kept me guessing but I think I was more caught up in what was happening with the library to really put the clues together. Add in some interesting characters and you have another series to add to your must read list.
When Josie fears for her life, she packs up and takes a job as head Librarian in small-town Oregon, where nobody knows her or can find her. The problem is the library is being sold to make way for a new spar and rejuvenate the town. The town is divided with some wanting the new spar and the jobs it would create, others want to keep there treasured library. Then things get really complicated when a dead body is discovered. Does somebody know where Josie is? And if they do was the dead woman sent to keep her quiet? If Josie hopes to help save the library the last thing she can do is keep quiet. She hasn't just made a connection to the stray cat but the library and actually the books themselves make her feel alive for the first time in her life. Will she stay and fight for the library and possibly a killer? Or will she save herself and run again?
I liked the narrator. She helped the story come to life and become more than just a story.

Excellent
Really enjoyed reading Bait and Witch. I love witch stories and have read quite a few, this one was slightly different. When finding she was a witch it scared her which made an interesting twist. Narrator was perfect for this book
