narration was excellent

Aleron's The Land series was one of the first series in the LitRPG genre that I listened to and holds a special place in my heart, and Alpha took me back to the experience of first listening to The Land : Founding. the world building was excellent and how it ties into both of Aleron's previous series was artfully done.

The main issue I have is that the ending of the book felt both rushed and anticlimactic in regards to the wider story, overall it felt like the first two thirds of what would have been a great book.

Overall I think this is a great story for Aleron's comeback and is simultaneously a great book for new fans as well as expanding on the AKU for existing fans alike. Alpha leaves plenty to be explored and I look forward to the "Avengers" moment when Richter, Remy and Fin final meet!

loved the story, Dr Kong's style of righting is superb

loved the book, been a fan of all his series so far and this is a great addition to that. enjoyed the world building and scene setting, his style of righting allows you to relate to the characters on a personal level, which just draws you deeper.
Pavi's narration of the story is top class. if your on the fence about having a listen, take a chance it's well worth it 👍

amazing concept

but was a bit slow to go and get started I'd like a bit more of an outline how the worlds actualy level or are entities to do what they do.

Much tighter writing in this series. Showing Aleron's growth as an author.

In comparison to the first 8 books of "The Land", the writing in this book (a spinoff of the The Land) is much tighter, with a more compact approach to writing, leading to a more pleasant listen without feeling like any of it is "filler".

It really does showcase Aleron's growth as an author. Something I hope carries over to the main "The Land" series, which I have praised in part, in the past.

Aleron's somewhat immature humour does carry over into this series, but who doesn't love a bit of immature humour? It doesn't detract in the slightest and I did laugh throughout.

Definitely worth a listen if you're a fan of the main "The Land" series or you just want to see how Aleron's writing has grown over time.

Brilliant as always

Felt strange to listen to at first because it has such a differrent base than the other 2 series'. Absolutely loved it. So looking forward to the next one. 10/10 as per usual. Excellently read too.

Another master piece by Aleron kong

I thought I could not wait for the next book in the land series, now I can’t wait for the next one in this series. Great book. Takes a few chapters of patience. And some world building elements had me tapping my foot for furthering the story but I wake that as great elements that I am looking forward to leaning more of the story.

enjoyable and great addition to the AKU

what I felt that was done great is the mechanics are different to the other two series but include parts and make them feel they are still linked

We finally ge to know!

The Land drew me fully into the Lit RPG genre and introduces you into the Labrynth, God's Eye was an enjoyable change in perspective, I enjoyed the connections between the two stories; Alpha finally give me something I really wanted to know about, what does James leave behind? Alpha is a perfect book one to this new AKU installment, and I'm already creating my own theories of how characters and elements of the story are connected to the rest of the universe. I appreciate why thus has taken as long as it has to be completed, and I'm so glad to be reading more from this author. roll on book 2!

Oh No! Lesson not learnt from The Land Book 8

This just feels as bad as The Land Book 8. Not much of a story and the Dings are annoying as hell. I don't know where the author has gone wrong.
The Land for example had it right, up to book 8. This feels like it's more dings than anything else. I do like that it's connected to his best work. Hopefully see Richter again.

I write this review while listening to the the last hour of the book.....Oh another ding! :-(
