Outstanding value
I bought this slightly nervous about the performances. With mixed reviews. I thought they were all excellent. You can of course question how well the accents are done, but to me consistency is key can you work out the characters.
The stories are excellent 3 poirot, including his first and second cases. With two spy/espionage type. The stories keep you guessing and are very well written, Overall very good would definitely buy again.

And I thought Poirot was Belgian
Mysterious Affair at Styles Poiriot comes from anywhere but France or Belgium. Often he has American tones mixed with some village hick.
Why do we have to be told the book at each chapter? These seem to be the audio equivalent of watching a film with the clapper board shown at each scene.

Variable quality narrators. Simon Jones excellent narration saves this collection.
This is a mixed bag, but it has grown on me with a repeat listening - Simon Jones’ narration of Who Killed Roger Ackroyd is absolutely top class and brings out the comic elements of the story - especially the doctor’s gossiping sister. Alison Larkin is quite good narrating two lesser known Agatha Christie novels. James Warwick employs some bizarre accents and the court scene in The Mysterious Affair at Styles is a most unconvincing episode of barristers yelling at witnesses. His Poirot accent is very laboured. This detracts from the story.
I enjoy hearing the unabridged stories as they reveal Agatha Christie’s humour and excellent observation of character. I wish Simon Jones had narrated them all.

Poorly narrated
Love all the stories but the narration is terrible even James Warwick is really poor. Not the best and wouldn’t recommend even though you get a lot of stories for the price. Choose another narrator.
