Old psychology
Had no idea how old this book was until, near the end, I heard "by the year 2,000". a lot of the psychology referenced is very out of date and not generally accepted any more, most of the rest feels like a motivational/positive thinking coach and not a manual for learning techniques. There are a few. though they seem to deliberately conflate intelligence with "lots of experience with a thing" and/or a particular competence

A clear map for learning
If you're drifting along in your career or you think you're done with education then you need to listen to this audio book. Some of it is a bit of a pep talk with the positive thinking being a little trite these days, but it is worth sticking with it to get some insight as to how you can go about mastering knowledge to become an expert.
It is vintage Brian Tracy with the 'you've got the power to become the best in your field' which is possible with this and I think some level of higher than average talent. But I feel the listener can gain something of a good game plan to approach learning more and 'raising their game'. Even if you're average at something you can rise above this level and fulfil your potential. Well this what I intend to do with the ideas from this book.
Some of these ideas are far from original, but the are packaged in a good way that there is something most people can take from it. Though the last half hour is back to back classical music (presumably to play with studying) and is not really explained what it is meant to do - just lobbed in there for good measure with Colin Rose's voiceover / hypnosis style affirmations. You have to be open to learning for this to work for you... It's no silver bullet for being an expert . It's a good starter for lifelong learners to focus their efforts.

Pretty old stuff
From the references one can see that this whole book is based on knowledge that is a few decades old. References to "audio cassettes" reinforce the impression the author didn't update this book. But it does provide a good overview of learning techniques (known at the time)

Not worth it.
Far to much waffle and very little in the way of actual learning technics. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Steer clear!!
