About this listen
Love is the one thing she knows for sure.
Joseph Slater, an up-and-coming Christian singer and songwriter, doesn’t plan to be in Cherish, South Carolina, longer than a few days. That is, until he meets Scarlett Evans, who finds herself at a loss for words when she is formally introduced to the famous musician.
Normally, Joseph would be looking for the fastest way out of town if he thought a woman he was attracted to qualified as a homebody. Yet Scarlett’s appeal - her laugh, her optimism, her obvious passion for the things she cares about - weighs stronger than his reluctance to settle down.
Despite her attempts to hold onto her heart, the weight of an empty life proves that although Scarlett had good reason to be lost, Joseph was her way to be found.
From USA Today best-selling author Josie Riviera comes a new contemporary Christian romance series set in the small town of Cherish, South Carolina. These sweet and wholesome stories, where God is at the center, brim with love and laughter.
A Valentine to Cherish is the third audiobook in the Cherish series, where music, laughter, and a little sister turn Valentine’s Day around.

Sweet Contemporary Romance
While overall, this was a cute story, I definitely had some issues with the theology.
I was also confused. Scarlett mentioned several things in the beginning of the story that made me feel like she was a moral person trying to do good works, but wasn't a Christian. Then later without any spiritual growth, she talks about them having the same faith. I also don't believe Pastors can be women, not even Associate Pastors. It's explicitly stated in the Bible that women should not have spiritual authority over men.
I did enjoy the variations of the character voices. Not one sounded like another. That's hard to do, but I wasn't really fond of Scarlett or the Associate Pastor's voices. Lastly, the singing did not add anything to the audiobook.
