Unfortunately Not for Me!
I found the heroin truly annoying and insipid and couldn't finish the book which is a shame as I usually love Miss Laurens books! Needed an older woman in the part!

The plot was Good
The woman was plainly stupid and for a supposedly strong man who is for ever fighting his DEMONS, he sure was easily manipulated. Her extreme youth was meant to explain away her behaviour, then you find out she is twenty. In fact neither character lived up to their billing, but as usually there is long, imaginative, repetitive sex filling the pages.

Good story line, silly heroine
The heroine was very very silly.
What I liked this instalment of the Cynster books was that it wasn’t dominated by intimate scenes, though there were a few. The central plot surrounding a race fixing villain provided the right level of suspense but the details were rather incredulous. It’s also unfathomable that in 1820, a woman could walk into a tavern full of raucous men and book herself a room. A few things don’t add up, but it’s still good for the imagination and I’ll certainly read the next one
