Summary
A longtime advocate of mental health awareness, Ruby Wax is no stranger to depression, a fact that is poignantly illustrated in her audiobook, Sane New World. Now she wants to share her vision of how to be happier and healthier versions of ourselves by embracing mindfulness - a simple concept that can seem challenging in regular practice, but this audiobook deftly illustrates a more accessible and sensible guide to finding peace in a hectic world.
Five hundred years ago no one died of stress: we have invented this concept, and now we let it rule us. Rest has become a dirty word, and our idea of satisfaction is answering the last email. We're sleepwalking through our own lives. Ruby Wax shows us how to wake up from this stupor with a scientific solution to modern problems: mindfulness.
Outrageously witty, smart and accessible, Ruby Wax shows ordinary people how and why to change for good. With practical exercises for your daily routine and a six-week course based on her studies of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy with Mark Williams at Oxford University, A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled is the only guide you need for a healthier, happier life.

A thought provoking, humorous read!
Ruby Wax has written an easy to understand, funny and inspiring guide on mindfulness, something we should all try to do. It's really sad to discover how she has struggled with depression through her life. She has sprinkled humor throughout the book, and doesn't take herself too seriously.

Fantastic view into the world of mindfulness!
Really honest, funny, inspiring and insightful audio in the mindfulnessand what it's all about. I loved the techniques shared for parenting and also recognising my own thought patterns. Nothing is too over complicated to understand.

Life Changing!!
After years of depression and anxiety after losing a child and trying Everything including alcohol and food and everything in between to self medicate. This book has started me on a journey of healing and coping. I will never be 100% no matter what I do after losing my daughter when she was only 19 years old but this book had taught me how to control my mind and take me to a better place and the most important point it brought me some peace. . . Thank you Ruby... you saved my life.... Literally Xx

Mind Blowing
This book is not only revolutionary, it is incredibly revelationary! As a self, a partner, mother, stepmother, grandmother, colleague and boss, this book has given me insights to all aspects of these relationships; the most important one is the relationship I have with myself. For me, Mindfulness is the key to my future inner wellbeing. It allows me to be me and what Ruby Wax has done in this book is incredibly brave; she has laid herself bare and shown us the normality of our unique selves and how it's ok to just 'be.' Thank you Ruby, from the tip of my toes to the top of my head.

Accessible intro to Mindfulness
A very accessible and engaging book on mindfulness. I found it easy and enjoyable to listen to. I laughed along with the anecdotes and appreciated the mix of theory and practice. A most informative and human book.

Outstanding
I don't care what gender you are, where you are from, whether you have a job, whether you have kids, how old you are or where you are right now. It doesn't matter. You need this book. It is points out things that are so obvious you will be wondering why you've never realised them before whilst giving you a guide to mindfulness that is both enlightening and hilarious. Just listen to/read it. I promise it will be worth it.
Also, thank you Ruby Wax.

What a refreshing listen!
Ruby's commentary sung like music to my ears. The feelings that she'd gone through, the anxiety, the panic attacks, the circles of negative questions running around her head. I'd been there and in that same situation.
Her no nonsense way of speaking was exactly what was needed and at times, absolutely hilarious.
After going through a rough patch and trying to turn things around this was just what I needed and I have recommended it to several other people since listening. And I've recommended that they listen to it instead of reading because the effect is so much better!
So highly recommend this whether your mind is frazzled or not!

Fantastic. Highly recommend this book.
If you have no knowledge of mindfulness or are well versed in it this is a great read. Well written, very informative and insightful, with Ruby’s usual brilliant smattering of humour. Also some great chapters on bringing mindful practices into childcare for small children through to young adults. I shall be bringing in much of the knowledge into my personal life and into my practice as a therapist.
