Summary

To thrive in this world we must learn to honour what it is to be human

The modern world is evolving at an unrelenting pace. With that pace comes increasing demands on our time and attention. Yes, technology has made our lives more convenient and we are living longer, but are we thriving, are we healthy, and are we happy?

Many people are living in pain, both emotional and physical. Movement capacity is shrinking, trapping us inside our own bodies. Sleep deprivation is considered normal, as is low energy. And our ability to focus is dwindling.

As human beings, we have some innate physiological and psychological needs. They are part of what makes us human. Those needs must be met, despite the demands of modern living.

Gareth teaches you how to honour what it is to be human so that you can thrive in this modern world.

Just some of the things you will learn in this book:

  • How our well-being is linked to our environment
  • How our body clock is about more than just sleep and how to look after it
  • How are physiology and psychology are not really separate and how take advantage of that
  • How to find out exactly what foods your body functions best on

This book is a raw, no bullsh!t approach that is written with humour and ultimately love.

Enlightenment in a world of doom!

Such a refreshing listen which I hungrily feasted upon until my bath water was cold. This is the absolute in common sense which many of us have lost touch with. Read it, listen to it and inwardly digest.

Short but packs a hell of a punch

No filler, just straight forward insight and advice on how to get control of your life. You will need to change your behaviour to get the benefits of this book. I think it's brilliant.

Genuine interesting story with advice

Short but very listenable book. Author is obviously genuine and from humble roots which is refreshing and better than the usual self help books written by privaliged people who think they have had it tough.

This audio book was great because Garth the Author reads it and it just makes more sense hearing it from him! I enjoyed him pushing me mentally into a routine I had been striving for some time so now upon finishing it I think I ight go gym! Thanks Gareth

Down to Earth

It's so good to have a self improvement book that is UK based, good fun and helps you think.
I enjoyed the authors style and friendly delivery.

This is my first audio book and I really enjoyed it.

Foul Language Detracts From Content

Foul Language Detracts From Content
The title sounded logical and practical which is what I was seeking and elements of the book were. I found that the writer has a pleasant, human, simplistic approach and is clearly enthusiastic about what he does and helping others. It wasn't however, until after I downloaded the audio that the "Potty mouth" element was apparent and the book certainly delivered on that aspect.

All the wisdom and knowledge that the author might have was (in my opinion), totally undermined by the constant, persistent and gratuitous foul language. I get that he's trying to show the world who he is so they can relate to this story but after less than a third of the book I'd had enough of the profanities - much sooner to be honest but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Sadly it doesn't get any better. This is the first audio book in 4 years since I began with Audible, that I've ever had cause to return. If foul language is your thing then by all means buy the book. If it's not (and I'm by no means a prude) - then steer well clear. I respect that the author has written a book, unfortunately it wasn't for me.
