About this listen

Bradford Bishop had it all: a beautiful wife, three towhead sons, a nice home in a quiet Maryland suburb, and a promising career in the US State Department. But on March 1, 1976, he threw it all away. After finding out he'd been passed over for a promotion, Bishop snapped. He went home and, in an act of unspeakable brutality, murdered his wife, his three boys, and his own mother - five people in all. Then he vanished off the face of the Earth. Or so it seemed.

Almost 40 years later, Peter Ross Range (author of the best-selling Murder in the Yoga Store) delivers the definitive story of Bishop's life and crime, following the trail from his privileged upbringing in California to his wily escape, including never-before reported details and chilling theories as to where he might be today.

Not bad

For a true crime fan such as myself there are still tonnes of cases to be found. This was a classic family annihilator but with a twist. where the heck is he now?

Such a terribly sad thing to happen.

I just can't understand how anyone can harm those who love them. Such a horrible thing to happen to that poor family. I hope he is caught but also think he may not be alive anymore. How could you do something like that and live with yourself. Very well researched, written & narrated.

whole new meaning to, 'happy days.'

Clues in the title, its another morbid American family mass murderer, but with a slight twist.

Personal interest

Well told and informed. I was actually at school with the oldest son Brad in Botswana in the 70s and remember him as a popular boy who was a keen horseman. Tragic loss

Truly demonic and horrific

A man possessed by an evil devil. To think he got away with it makes me sick. If anybody deserved to be executed, it was this evil despicable excuse for a man.. I hope he pays in the next life for this and answers to God. It was the worst murder case that I have ever heard of. Killing his beautiful family and murdering his own mother. It's very disturbing indeed. He was obviously absolutely crazy in the head.

Despicable Human

This book was informative and to the point without repeating itself like some others do in order to make them last longer.
The crime was saddeningly horrific.

True Crime

An interesting True Crime story I hadn't heard before which was well written and easy to follow. The narrator was excellent and had a very 'easy to listen to' voice. I'll be looking out for more of his narrations.

Haphazard

A very rushed narration probably because the story is presented in a very jumbled and haphazard manner.
