The story line, the characters and the way it was written
What about Marc Vietor’s performance did you like?
He is such an imaginative writer, and has a great way of expressing himself.

I laughed and cried, the characters are real
Any additional comments?
Read Chris Fieldwarer IRA Intrusion, not to the high standard of Victors writing, but enjoyable, also the Contagion books

Epic battles!
Classic ringo over the top military sci fi fun :-). Takes a while to get into the hard core fighting, but it's interesting anyway and worth the wait.

Slow
First book in a series so lots of detail that will be used in following books. A bit slow to start with but gets better in the final quarter of the book. Narrator was excellent.

Bombastic narrator ruins the day... AGAIN!
I really loved the Prince Roger series and liked Troy Rising.
Monster Hunter fell flat and this is in the same category.
In this case i really disliked the narrator but got to the end.
He also ruined Hyperion for me so it is getting personal...
The book itself is interesting but not groundbreaking. The story is more interesting for what it hints at and leaves for the next book presumably.
The clicks and accents are awful, the clicking is fun in the beginning but he tries too hard and too often.
I did not like the underlying stupidity of the commanders messing up everything but this may be a conspiracy of the aliens.
Not sure if i will get to it.

Military sci fi
If you enjoy military sci-fi with lots of combat with dastardly aliens then this is definitely for you. I am not averse to some large scale terrestrial battles and details of weaponry and tactics - and this is well written - but I do like some other plot points to take up a reasonable fraction of The story overall, whereas this book is, after the initial build up, one skirmish after another. I enjoyed John Ringo's collaborations with David Weber ( the 'Empire of Man series) immensely, but this story does not pat sufficient attention to
other elements ,- characterisation and personal relationships for example- to go with the military details - at least for my liking. So I will not rush to the next in the series..But if battles and weapons and tactical detail in an imagined future is your bag, then this might well be for you.
