Silvano Fuso, a graduate in Chemistry, PhD in Chemical Sciences, has been a teacher of chemistry and is involved in teaching and popularising science. He contributes to several magazines and websites and has published several books. Recent popularisation texts include: Chimica quotidiana (Rome 2014, winner of the Premio Nazionale di Divulgazione Scientifica 2014 for Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences), Naturale=buono? (Rome 2016, winner of the 2016 Premio Nazionale di Divulgazione Scientifica 2016 for life and health sciences), Energie misteriose (Rome 2016), Le ragioni della scienza (Rome 2017), Strafalcioni da Nobel (Rome 2018), L'alfabeto della materia. Viaggio nel mondo degli elementi chimici (Rome 2019, winner of the Premio Internazionale di Letteratura Città di Como 2019 for the best science popularisation essay), Quando la scienza dà spettacolo (Rome, 2020), Il segreto delle cose (Rome, 2021), Sensi chimici (Rome, 2022). He is a full member of CICAP (Comitato Italiano per il Controllo delle Affermazioni sulle Pseudoscienze), of the Italian Society for the Advancement of Science and of the Italian Chemical Society. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the journal CnS - La chimica nella scuola of the Italian Chemical Society and a member of the Scientific Council of the Genoa Science Festival. On 27 January 2013, the International Astronomical Union named the asteroid 2006 TF7, orbiting between Mars and Jupiter, after him.
