I write cozy murder mysteries centered on a small-town cat rescue shelter in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. When I adopted my first cat, a blue-eyed lynx-point Siamese named Seraphina, from a rescue organization five years ago, her personality showed me the potential for these fascinating and lovable creatures to be the focal point for a series of novels. I honed my cat-handling skills by volunteering for a rescue shelter, where I started to learn what the wonderful people who devote their lives to rescuing and fostering cats do every day. My love of cats, my admiration for people who rescue animals, and my experiences traveling through Virginia’s beautiful rolling countryside and charming small towns serve as my inspiration for the Pepperton Cat Adoption Agency mystery series.
