Latest fiction work - a book of fifteen short stories titled 'I need you to be Harold' - published May 2023 Peter Adamson's latest non fiction book is "Landmark in Time - the world of the Wittenham Clumps" - a wide-ranging collection of essays that take as their starting point something that can be seen from the well-loved Oxfordshire landmark known as the Wittenham Clumps. His most recent novel "The Kennedy Moment" was published by Myriad Editions in February 2018. He is the author of two previous novels, "Facing out to Sea" (1997) and "The Tuscan Master" (2000). His short story "Sahel" (available for Kindle) was awarded the Royal Society of Literature V.S.Pritchett Memorial Prize for 2013. Peter Adamson founded New Internationalist magazine in the 1970s and was for sixteen years a Senior Adviser to the Executive Director of UNICEF with responsibility for the annual 'State of the World's Children' report. With his partner, Lesley Adamson, he devised and produced 'Facts for Life - the health information that every family in the world has a right to know'. Now in its fourth edition, Facts for Life is published jointly by six United Nations agencies and the World Bank and has run to more than 15 million copies in 215 languages. From 2000 to 2012 he authored the annual UNICEF Report Card on problems facing children in the industrialised nations.
