Nancy Campbell is a poet and non-fiction writer. Recent books on culture and nature include the memoir, Thunderstone, winner of the TLS Ackerley Prize 2023 and the bestseller Fifty Words for Snow, a Waterstones Book of the Month. Nancy's creative response to climate crisis, following a winter spent at the most northern museum in the world on the island of Upernavik in Greenland, received the prestigious Ness Award from the Royal Geographical Society in 2020. As Canal Laureate, Nancy wrote poems for installation across the UK waterways from London Docklands to the River Severn. She has held numerous international research residencies, most recently as Visiting Professor of Literature at the Free University of Berlin.
