I write, draw and perform - and I write about those things. My latest book brings it all together: A Modest Book About How To Make An Adequate Speech aims to show that you don't have to be slick and "powerful" to speak effectively. We can all do it. This follows up on an earlier book, How To Change The World - because you won't change much if you don't tell people about it. My other books are mixed, but one thing they have in common is a commitment to lively storytelling, whether funny or serious. My novel What If The Queen Should Die? has classic authors at its centre. The Family Project is full of exercises to help you create your own memoir. And I've written two memoirs of my own, Comp: A Survivor's Tale, and Sew Your Own. I just love creative self-expression - my own, and other people's.
