Dawn Harris was born in Gosport, Hampshire, but has lived most of her life in North Yorkshire. She has written three historical novels in the Drusilla Davanish Mystery series -"Letter From A Dead Man" and "The Fat Badger Society," and "The Prisoner in the Tower." And she has won two Short Story competitions in UK magazines, with prizes of £1000, and a lovely new computer. Three of her books are set on the Isle of Wight in the 1790s, and independent reviews include, "This story has everything: excitement, mystery, humour and romance. Great stuff!" Sheila Norton, popular award winning and best-selling author. "A delightful murder mystery in an 18th century setting." - The Historical Novel Society. And, "Letter From A Dead Man has a similar wit to Pride and Prejudice, and Harris holds up a mirror to society in the sort of way that Austen did." - Margot Kinberg's "In the Spotlight." Her fourth book, 'The Ebenezer Papers," came about when Dawn's London agent suggested she should spread her wings a little and write a book in a later historical era. She has always been intrigued by the 1930s, and set her book then, writing a mystery thriller involving Nazi spies, Blackshirts and villains. Romance and humour play a part too. Dawn was first published in the Yorkshire Post, writing humorous poems and articles. Since then she has written numerous short stories for women's magazines in the UK and abroad, some of which appear in "Dinosaur Island," a collection of historical, romantic and mystery stories. A second volume appeared in 2016, entitled, "The Case of the Missing Bridegroom." Dawn loves to hear from her readers and can be contacted through her website www.dawnharris.co.uk
