Bill Sanderson's newspaper resume includes the New York Daily News, the New York Post, the Bergen Record in New Jersey and the Concord Monitor in New Hampshire. He's also written for The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch.com, and Politico NY, among other places. His latest book, "Do For Me," is about Sheldon Silver, the corrupt speaker of the New York state Assembly. Silver was one of the most powerful politicians in New York City. He died in federal prison while serving a 6 1/2-year sentence on bribery and money laundering charges. "Do For Me" grew from Sanderson's interest in state government and politics, including his years as a state house reporter in New Hampshire and New Jersey. Sanderson's first book, "Bulletins From Dallas," is the story of Merriman Smith, who broke the news of John F. Kennedy's assassination on the UPI news wire five minutes ahead of his competitors at The Associated Press. Smith won a Pulitzer Prize for his account of everything he did and saw on November 22, 1963, which was written under intense deadline pressure. Follow Bill Sanderson on Twitter: @wpsanderson
