About this listen
When you spend your life battling death, who has time for love?
Dr. Ali Torveau knows just how fragile life can be - she sees death and tragedy every day in the trauma unit. Battling the dark forces of fate is her life's work and she doesn't want or need anything else, certainly nothing as transient as love. Plenty of women try to change her mind, but she never has any trouble saying no. Not until the day firefighter Beau Cross shows up in her ER and sets Ali’s carefully ordered world aflame.

absolutely enchanting
If you could sum up Trauma Alert in three words, what would they be?
absolutely heart stopping
What other book might you compare Trauma Alert to, and why?
Heart Block...they both showed 2 females deeply in love but afraid to express it. in the end love did prevailed even though Heart Block was more touching than this.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
my favorite scene was when Ali went to the bar and saw the girl all over Beau and got jealous. it was really amazing how fast she gladly placed ownership on Beau.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
yes, when Beau told Ali that she was in love with her and Ali told her that she only wanted her for her body.

Follows on from 'Turn Back Time'
This story follows on in a small way to 'Turn Back Time' and although I enjoyed it I did pick up a couple of small continuity errors which did spoil it somewhat. To my mind if I picked up on them, then really the editor should have noticed as well. However, another good story overall from the author and well read by the narrator.

A better written Radclyffe lesfic books
A good w/on w/ romance - loved the medical and first responder detail. Even the attraction and psychological walls between the main protagonists, implausible at first, became believable by the end of the story. Although there were a few to many sex scenes for my taste, these did not become repetitive, boring padding, which was a nice change in a Radclyffe book.
I understand Radclyffe's books are fantasy romances that are aimed ar a particularl demographic but the troubling reservations I have, with In all of the many Radclyffe books I have listened to so far, are that the main characters are always white and beautiful, never black, plain looking, disabled or poor. There has only been a rare, periferal character that was not white or middle class. There are never any serious issues around race, cultural diversity, disparities in achievement, income, physical ability & etc. It is as if Radclyffe expects her audience to live cocooned in the narrow world of the white, middle class America of the 1950s and does not trust us to have developed a wider understanding of the world and the issues people face today.
Narrator was ok but it would have been helpful to have different voices as it gets confusing when the author writes she/she and her/her repeatedly and in succession.

Long-winded
the narrator did a really decent job with a rather predictable story. liked that the protagonists were lesbians, but the book was mediocre at best
