About this listen
Owen Richards lives a quiet life in his small hometown of Haven's Cove. He has a rewarding life consisting of three very supportive - not to mention feisty - women, and a successful bakery that he owns and absolutely loves. Yet, Owen can't seem to shake this emptiness inside or the intense feeling that something is missing. A sudden encounter with a man from his past, one he despises, turns his entire world upside down. When Owen finds himself attracted to that sexy man, he questions everything, including his sanity. After all, only an incredibly disturbed person would find that he can't stop thinking about his high school bully.
Brody Walker never expected to return to Haven's Cove. He's made a life for himself in Boston, where he can truly be the person he was always meant to be. But an unexpected call has Brody facing all the demons he'd left behind so long ago. Now, he's faced with not only a difficult goodbye, but one long overdue apology to a man who is no longer that lanky kid from high school. The challenge is to convince the guy he's changed - and also prove he's worth taking a chance on.
Contains mature themes.

Touching love story
A hate to love story with incredible friends to help on the way, a mother passing and a beast of a father and after all this a happy ever after beautifully written and narrated.

Loved it!
This is the first book by Jaclyn Quinn I have read/listened to and I was very impressed.
It’s very emotional and deals with numerous issues such as past bullying, homophobia, illness, death and bereavement so it is on the angsty side. On saying that it doesn’t appear to bog you down and it’s is fairly balanced with the well throughout characters, Owen and Brody’s developing relationship, the laughs, especially from Gabe and the heat which I’m afraid I though was a little tepid.
Im looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

The story just kept coming
Picked this up when I’d run out of credits so wasn’t sure about it. BUT. It’s a great story - really true emotions - had me laughing and crying. Really recommend it

Two thumbs up!
Just the right amount of cutesy romance mixed with a little angst and silly humour.

From bully to lover
Brody and Owen haven't seen the other since their high school days. One was part of the group of bullies of the other.
Owen is living with his former partner and runs his own bakkery in his hometown. Owen comes back to Haven's Cove to take care of his terminally ill mom. To see if they can patch thr pieces of a troubled home life from his younger years.
Owen and Brody meet strqight away and seem to fall in old patterns. However nothing seems to be the same and they both truely are a more mature and confident person who is not afraid to speak up and ask for what they want and need to get their hea. This is the first novel in the Haven's Cove series and I like where this ia going. More than enough characters to have more books coming in this MM series.
The narrator is (fairly) new to me. His narration is easy going and pleasant.

Great!
This was a truly entertaining listen. From the storyline to the narration. The comedic relief and the heartfelt redemption of Brody. A great combination of a deep intimate story and sensual tension.
