About this listen

Harper Jones is a professional bike courier, and in his business if you don't ride fast, you don't make money. His apartment has mice, he's barely able to scrape up the rent, but at least he's living life on his terms and doesn't depend on anyone.

Sam Foster is the gay son of a wealthy conservative senator. He's noticed Harper before when he's dropped off packages at his dad's company, but he's never had the nerve to speak to his secret crush.

When Sam accidentally hits Harper with his car, Harper's bike is destroyed and he's injured seriously enough that he won't be delivering packages for a while. Sam decides Harper needs rescuing, and he moves in with Harper to take care of him.

Unfortunately, Sam's politician dad is convinced Harper's a con-artist and he'll do whatever it takes to get him away from his son.

Contains mature themes.

I liked it

I’m really struggling to review this! It was a really sweet love story between the MMC’s but everything just happened so fast for me personally.
The narration was great though, so that certainly helped with the enjoyment of the story.

I get that it’s a story and Sam literally moving in from day one to help Harper which was pretty sweet but it all seemed very strange to just become so domesticated in such a short space of time and not really giving Harper a choice in the matter 🤣 despite him having conflicted feelings over Sam at first.

I felt so sorry for Harper throughout the entire story though. I totally agree that Sam has lived a sheltered life and the way he keeps throwing money in the mix really wasn’t helping, especially after the first few times of Harper making it well known that he prefers his independence.
I really believe Sam shouldn’t have continued the constant spending on him.

Not to mention how insensitive he was toward Harper when the entire block of flats burnt down!
I know he meant well because he’s just the sweetest cinnamon roll but completely dismissing Harper’s feelings and emotions about literally watching his entire life burning to the ground didn’t sit with me and H had every right to lash out.

Then came the part where H apologized to S for what he’d said about Sam’s job/ life etc. which yeah it might’ve been a little harsh not knowing the full story but S didn’t once apologize for the inconsiderate things he said also and that didn’t sit right with me.

Then don’t even get me started on the dad, he’s a grade A Asshole!! Constantly shutting Sam down all his life and not only that but treating Harper like absolute dirt was just disgusting before he even pulled that stunt! After that I hated him even more and I honestly don’t think Sam should ever forgive what he did nor should Harper have given in to Sam as easily because that was such a low blow not believing in H.

But the whole Ally thing was super sweet and I’m glad it ended how it did 🥰
