Seasons of the Lukoi

Sava has the best house in all of Lukos. He built it himself, dreaming of the day when he and Milan, the man he loved, could live there and brave the harsh winters of Lukos together—only to be devastated when Milan was found dead in the spring. Victor is a scholar from Gerakia, a land known for its long summers and vibrant history, and he has never been more unprepared in his life. Abandoned on the inhospitable island of Lukos after a disastrous relationship, Victor has to adapt quickly to survive. It helps, of course, that he’s taken in by Sava.

Zephyr has always been cursed. The same fur that gives him the ability to shift between wolf and man allows others the power to control his will. Doomed to follow any order given by one who holds his cloak, Zephyr steals it from his tyrannical foster-father and takes off into the wilderness. He’s heard stories of the wolf-people of Lukos, the ones who don’t hide away in the caves Zephyr grew up in but build houses to weather the harsh winter, but there’s no telling what they’ll do when they see him. Even here, Zephyr knows he will never be truly safe.

As a young girl, Elena fell while climbing a tree with her best friend, Aleks. Thrown into the shore of the river of the dead, she found a boy named Evander Akti, who was there thanks to a terrible fall of his own…thousands of miles away in Arktos. Together, they turned their back on the river and went into the dark, holding each other tight as they escaped back to the land of the living. But that was only possible because Aleks, left behind to watch Elena fall, made a deal with Death.

While most Lukoi spend their days preparing for a long, dangerous winter, Micah Firekeeper is a toymaker. He lives alone in his great-grandmother’s cottage, making beautiful designs full of color and life. When a fire destroys his home and all of his creations, Micah is taken in by Viv and Sasha, a married couple who live in the underground Compound.
