Imagination Street

Jason Smithson was previously evaluated by a developmental pediatrician, and William and Dianne, his parents, are about to find out if Jason has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Jason picks up on the parental conflict and stress, which ultimately leads him to find comfort in a brand new fantasy world inside his mind.

It's supermarket adventure time. While shopping with William, Jason finds the supermarket experience less than desirable and escapes with his mind and shopping cart back to Imagination Street.

In the third book of Imagination Street, Jason bonds with William, his father, with music. William's band and signature song called "Rummage Rubbish" strikes a positive chord inside of Jason's soul. This means a lot to William, as Jason doesn't often sing, let alone interact, with him. Dianne decides on whether to accept or decline a job offer after an unannounced visit from Carol, her mother.

While Jason heads off to school, Dianne begins her new job, while William faces challenges at his current job. While already overwhelmed with the responsibility of raising a special needs child, William also fears his days of creating music are over. Meanwhile, on Imagination Street, Jason sees a distinct message of courage forming from the clouds.
