Apple Orchard Cozy Mystery

Everyone adores Miss May, except the guilty. In a small town where neighbors know each other, lawn chairs come out in the spring; if you sit around chatting long enough, someone brings you pie; and there are still skeletons in every closet. Luckily for Pine Grove, Miss May has a nose for crime. The body was found face-down in the orchard.

When a sleazy money manager starts fast-talking local residents, retired lawyer Miss May and her quirky sidekick Chelsea begin to feel like something is amiss in Pine Grove...then the sleaze ball is found dead at the winter festival. The girls don’t believe in coincidence, so they set out to discover why the money manager turned up dead just when residents began to suspect him of wrongdoing. Something is off in Pine Grove and Miss May and Chelsea won’t rest until the charm of small-town living is restored.

Chelsea just wants to spend more time settling into life on the apple orchard, bonding with Miss May and recovering from heartbreak. But as the Candy Apple Festival nears, a wealthy newcomer brings trouble to Pine Grove. Any notions of relaxation are pushed aside when the snobby big-city millionaire turns up dead and Miss May recruits Chelsea to solve yet another mystery. There’s a cryptic ransom note, a bereaved widow, and a big, mysterious mansion at the center of the investigation.

Big-time developer Hank Rosenberg wants to build a Massive Mart in town, and he’s going to knock down several beloved business to make it happen. The townspeople are up in arms. Pine Grove is quaint. And serene! Way too charming for a megastore. Besides, who in the world needs to buy toilet paper 96 rolls at a time? The night before the historic buildings are set to be torn down, Rosenberg dies facedown in a plate of Miss May’s Every Berry Pie.
