In the fourth and final installment, Mercy, Atlee’s quest for answers reaches a boiling point—and puts her in grave danger.

David Baldacci is no stranger to writing fast-paced thrillers, but writing a series around a woman protagonist was a new challenge. In a discussion with Pan Macmillan about Atlee Pine, Baldacci explained, “I've written about a lot of female characters in my novels, and I'm very comfortable writing about women, but I wanted to explore an avenue where the female was the lead character and the lead protagonist… Doing something different with each book is what drives me as a writer and keeps me excited.” Fans of Baldacci’s previous thrillers with a leading man, including the Memory Man series and Archer novels, will not be disappointed: Atlee Pine is multi-faceted, complicated, and incredibly strong.

The Atlee Pine series is performed by dual narrators: a woman, Brittany Pressley, and a man, Kyf Brewer. Their skilled voices complement one another and capture the suspense and tension of each pause-resistant installment.
