Many believers want to serve the Lord. Many aspire to be servants of the Lord. This is wholesome. However, not many believers have asked themselves what this service of the Lord is. It is easily discernable that most of what people call the service of God is really the service of man...The obstacle to becoming the servant of another man is self. When self is dealt with, a person can become the servant of God and, with increasing dealings with self, the servant of God can become the slave of God and, with even more dealings with self, the slave of God can become the slave of all men.

Spiritual power is needed today. This power is needed to be like Christ in character and in deed. It is the power of God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord meant that the church as his body, and the believer as a member of his body, would manifest spiritual power in character and service. The church is, generally speaking, powerless. Persecution is what one receives for loving the Lord and for serving him as he ought to be served. Persecution is a must for all who are true to the Lord. There is no way by which they can run away from it and remain true to their Lord.

There is a war in progress between God and His forces on one side, and the devil and his forces on the other side. Whether you like it or not, you are a part of that war. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, God has enroled you in His army and expects you to fight for Him and with Him. If you have not yet received the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then you are on the devil’s side, fully registered in his army, even if you have good intentions.

This book, The Way of Christian Service by Zacharias Tanee Fomum, is the outflow of a heart burdened to see the marks of the lordship of Jesus Christ in every aspect of Christian service. It is the heart cry of a man who is desperate to see a new kind of minister on the horizon of Christian service - men and women who know God intimately, who fellowship with Him daily, and who commune with Him unceasingly.

What is success in the Christian life? Success in the Christian life is for an individual to be all that God saved him for and all that God wants him to be. The one who wants to be successful must, therefore, discover that which the lord saved him for and wants him to be, and accomplish it. In order to do this, he must find out the overriding purpose of God for his life and do it. He must set that purpose as the one goal of his life and then put all of himself and all that he has into accomplishing it.

Ce livre a été écrit à un moment de crise pour moi et pour ceux que le Seigneur a suscités pour être co-ouvriers avec moi dans le ministère. Nous avons fait face et nous sommes en train de faire face à des circonstances dans lesquelles notre seul soutien est le Seigneur. Jusque-là Il a été fidèle. Il a été plus que suffisant et Il est plus que suffisant pour notre besoin. Nous aussi nous trouvons que nous sommes plus que vainqueurs par Celui qui nous a aimés.
