In the spring of 2014, struggling musician Mike Bradley is forced to do some manual work over the spring bank holiday to make ends meet. What was supposed to be a routine decorating job turns into a life-changing decision. Is the Memorabilia Man all he appears to be? A story of loyalty and betrayal and a misguided sense of honor.

Set in the 1970s, the story follows a day in the life of Arthur Pickering. Formerly an army man, he is now dedicated to being a school crossing "lollypop" patrolman. Arthur's strong dislike of motorist’s bad manners and yobs is tempered by the love of his job as he continues his crusade against modern society. With his mischievous sense of humor and his little black book of misdemeanors, he is loved by some, and feared by the rest.
