  • Summary

  • The cognitive story behind a simple act of aggression. How our brain is essentially stuck in the Stone Age, struggling to deal with the complexity and pressures of modern life. And how an ongoing battle between our twin cognitive systems - our fast and slow thinking brains - lies behind much that goes wrong in our lives.

Terrific

What a treasure he is because he has it all. The voice, the intonation, storytelling, intellect and linguistics. How lucky we are to have him teach us this helpful and life affirming/ changing research and information.

My silly brain likes this a lot

Wonderfully engaging, easy to listen to, and for me, left me feeling like I could listen to a hundred more episodes. Highly recommended

no issue with play

It is what you take from it. go in with an open mind; and remember he's a mentalist, as am I. If you are open for some outside influence to hold up the mirror to yourself, fine. If you're expecting a quick fix without any commitment, stop. This is not hypnosis, it's a means to understand ourselves. for that, I think it's good! this is a good 'sleep audio' and not one to be thought too hard about, but worthwhile.

Brilliant Listen.

If you like Derren Brown then you will love this. I’ve listened to all 8 episodes and in the future I will probably listen to all 8 again. It’s fun, light, entertaining and interesting to learn about the brain. I would have paid (or used a credit) for this, but it’s free! Fantastic.

Thought provoking and useful

Each episode is interesting and practical, yet short enough not to overwhelm you with information. A great series.

The troublesome brain reviewed by Tevin Gongo

I really like Derren, I could not resist the opportunity to learn from the expert of the human behaviour. I was expecting something more in depth but as a 30 minute episode, this is really well done.

Too much background music

The content is interesting but I couldn’t get past the irritating loop of “spooky” keyboard music in the background. Part of a general tendency towards dumbing down or maybe its because he’s a showman? I gave up after 15 minutes.
