  • MOM: WE LOVE YOU. WE'RE TRYING TO FIND YOU: TEEN GIRL'S CELL GOES DEAD. WHERE'S MADISON?
    Oct 1 2024

Police in Cleveland are asking for the public’s help in finding teen Madison Rich. She’s been missing now over 40 days. The search began the night of August 14. Maddie was at home, but sometime in the early morning hours of August 15, she leaves. Maddie has left home for a few days in the past, but she has always maintained contact with friends via social media and in the beginning this time, when her mother finds Maddison gone on the morning of August 15, she is worried, but finds her daughter is communicating on social media.

For the next few days Maddie communicates with friends via phone and snapchat. Her family is able to track her on the 15th, 16th, and 17th. Maddie's mom is getting concerned because Maddie has some medical issues that need medication, but her medication is at home. Every day since Maddie has gone missing Mom Tracey has been posting to social media about her daughter and thanks to a local company has placed two large signs in her front yard. They each have a picture of Madison and her information.

Lakewood police says when Madison Rich left her westside home in Lakewood, at first she was staying at a friend’s home in Cleveland and communicating with other individuals via phone and snapchat. On August 18th, Maddie left the friend’s home and law enforcement picks up her phone’s GPS location in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. Police tried tracking her phone after August 18 and determine the phone has been rendered inoperable, has been turned off, or the battery has lost power. Regardless of reason, the phone has not registered with any cell tower since August 18.

Police send out a BOLO for 17-year-old Maddison Rich. "Maddie" is five foot seven, one hundred and ten pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes. She has a spider web tattoo on her right arm, and a mole on the left side of her cheek. They are asking the public for help in finding Maddie, in hopes of bringing Maddie home before her 18th birthday this month.

  • Teen Girl Carly Gregg " Shoots Mom in Face," Invites Friends to Come "See a Dead Body"
    Sep 30 2024

Carly Gregg is a good student, but has had trouble at school. She briefly attends an alternative school after being caught carrying a knife. Her parents revoke Carly’s phone privileges when she breaks her parents’ social media rules. Friends are concerned when they realize Carly has a ‘burner phone’ and catch her smoking marijuana. One friend distracts Carly while another goes straight to Carly’s mom. Ashley Smylie confronts Carly on the way home from school, telling the teen that her room will be searched when they get home.

Ashley goes straight to Carly’s room while the teen takes their dogs out. Almost immediately Ashley discovers a box full of THC vape pens—she takes the box to her bedroom then returns to Carly’s room to continue searching. Carly comes back inside, checks to see where her mother is, then quietly sneaks toward her parents’ bedroom. Carly lifts the mattress to retrieve her mom’s .357 [three fifty seven] Magnum pistol. Immediately after the shooting, Carly uses her mom’s phone to text Heath Smylie, “You almost home honey?” Smylie replies he’ll be home in about an hour. Carly then sends a text to 6 friends, saying she’s having an emergency and needs someone to come to her house. One friend offers to call 911. Carly declines. Eventually, one friend agrees to come over. When Carly answers the door, she asks the girl, “Are you squeamish around dead bodies?” before leading the girl to her mom’s body in her bedroom.

Carly tells her horrified friend, “I put three in my mom, and I have three more waiting for my stepdad when he gets home.” Carly says he should be here soon, and asks the friend to wait in the backyard. Carly opens the garage door, goes back inside, and lies in wait for Heath Smylie to arrive. The second Smylie opens the door to enter the home, Carly fires a shot at her stepdad. Smylie grabs the gun and Carly fires two more shots while they struggle over it. When Smylie overpowers her, Carly runs through the backyard and away from the home.
