A promising new zombie series

I enjoyed this book, the characters were good, the plot had plenty of action and the narration was good. I really liked Cassie, she was strong, no nonsence and ready for trouble, but a little hesitant when trouble finally found her. I can't wait to start the next book. to find out what happens next. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

influenZa season

I received this book via a free promo code and this is my voluntary review.

This started off so promising.... but now part of my brain feels like I have had a lobotomy and I'm fairly sure it wasn't the zombies.

Cassie Wild is your typical teen Mary Sue with plot armour. Anti-Vaxer Mom raised her on a concoctions of natural herbal remedies and her gun mad dad saved her from receiving the flu shot which turned most people into Zombies.
Her Mary Sue special powers don't stop there of course... She's a martial arts expert, object of desire for Bryce the hot martial arts instructor and hunky soldier Austin, Every character in this story insists on reminding us how she's a great marksman and zombie slaying expert... even if most of the time her decisions and hair twirling boy mad brain and thoughts regarding Bryce make her TSTL on several occasions. There is very little depth in this book and if it were a movie... its definitely Razzi material. If you were to think of this as a comedy... I guess it could work.

If this hadn't been an audiobook I doubt I would have finished it because the childish conversations and the multitude of idiotic character decisions would have been too exhausting to read myself. which should tell you something.... i am a major zombie fanatic but this was not written well. I think the only thing that saved it from feeling like a waste of time was the great performance from Belle Avery.
