MARIE CLAIRE 'BEST BOOKS OF 2022' AND FEBRUARY PICK FOR MALALA'S LITERATI BOOKCLUB
Yinka wants to find love. Her mum wants to find it for her.
She also has too many aunties who frequently pray for her delivery from singledom, a preference for chicken and chips over traditional Nigerian food, and a bum she's sure is far too small as a result. Oh, and the fact that she's a thirty-one-year-old South-Londoner who doesn't believe in sex before marriage is a bit of an obstacle too...
When her cousin gets engaged, Yinka commences 'Operation Find A Date for Rachel's Wedding'. Armed with a totally flawless, incredibly specific plan, will Yinka find herself a huzband?
What if the thing she really needs to find is herself?

Very authentic book
Love this book so much. For me the originality is spot on. The author has clearly done her work and researched thoroughly. This book is well written and well read. From start to finish I was captivated. Well done.

At last, proper proper Naija
My wife and I (non-Nigerian south Londoners) thoroughly enjoyed this book. The rom com style story line is very predictable but flavoured with the richness of 'proper' Naija immigrant parent vs their British Nigerian child. As south Londoners, we recognised the themes here which were at times LOL funny, brought to life by the narrator. The mixture of British Nigerian and proper proper Naija was this audiobooks' best feature in our opinion. This is a far cry from years prior, narrators attempting an accent. For those of us in very close contact with proper proper Naija, we can wholly appreciate this. Thanks to the author and audible for choosing to remain authentic. Lets hope we see books like these turned into a TV series.

A funny, familiar and hear warming story
Each and every time I listen to books such as this one, I am reminded why I cherish black authors, creating character who I recognise, in places that I’ve been. We can all relate to the pressure and expectations from our families and ourselves, that can lead to out of character behaviours. A beautiful reminder of the windy path that this thing called life can take. Loved it.

Relatable
I love being able to find books like these thank you Lizzie for writing and great performance from Ronke.
Yinka was making some wild decisions in this but it's her life and we love to see it! We love to embrace our heritage and personal growth.

Totally worth the read!!
This was such an amazing story and I did not expect the ending at all!! The narration and sound design was also brilliant, the added sounds of writing on paper or typing into a phone really helped you immerse yourself into Yinka’s world - and so good to hear an actual Black British person with that classic London accent narrate it too.

Excellent
Loved the narrating and story line . It was so relatable and like how they brought in counselling and the reason why we behave the way we do . I will definitely recommend it .
