About this listen
Bloomsbury presents World Travel by Anthony Bourdain, read by Laurie Woolever, Shep Gordon, Christopher Bourdain, Jen Agg, Matt Walsh, Bill Buford, Claude Tayag, Nari Kye, Vidya Balachander and Steve Albini.
Terrific… His love for his subjects – both the food and the cook – sings' Telegraph
'Christ, could Bourdain weave words... the guy wrote like a poet' Guardian
A celebration of the life and legacy of one of the most important food writers of all time – the inimitable Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain saw more of the world than nearly anyone. His travels took him from his hometown of New York to a tribal longhouse in Borneo, from cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, Paris, and Shanghai to the stunning desert solitude of Oman’s Empty Quarter – and many places beyond.
In World Travel, a life of experience is collected into an entertaining, practical, fun and frank travel guide that gives readers an introduction to some of his favorite places – in his own words. Featuring essential advice on how to get there, what to eat, where to stay and, in some cases, what to avoid.
Supplementing Bourdain’s words are a handful of essays by friends, colleagues, and family that tell even deeper stories about a place, including sardonic accounts of traveling with Bourdain by his brother, Chris; a guide to Chicago’s best cheap eats by legendary music producer Steve Albini, and more.

Recap
Perfect for anyone who's watched his shows!
Covers quite a lot of Parts Unknown and goes over each place in a little more detail.

Constantly interrupted with irrelevant info
Half of this is a good Tony Bourdain book, constantly interrupted with a schoolteacher voice reading boring probably out of date information about the prices of local bus services or the codes of local airports. You can’t even skip as these bits don’t occupy a chapter. It’s a really frustrating listen because you tune out all the irrelevant info then the actor playing Tony comes on again and you realise you weren’t listening.
Desperately needs a second edition without the interruptions.

The opposite of what Tony lived for
A dry badly written and performed portrayal of an amazing but haunted soul. Gave up half way

This book is unnecessary
There's no doubt that this book was made with love for Tony Bourdain, but if you're a fan -- and if you're here, you must be -- there's nothing new. If you've seen his shows, and heard his narration, then you already know the best bits of the book.
