Summary

Shortlisted for the British Book Awards, Children's Book of the Year, 2007.

Tiffany Aching is a trainee witch now working for the seriously scary Miss Treason. But when Tiffany witnesses the Dark Dance, the crossover from summer to winter, she does what no one has ever done before: she leaps into the dance. And into the oldest story there is. She draws the attention of the Wintersmith himself....

As Tiffany-shaped snowflakes hammer down on the land, can Tiffany deal with the consequences of her actions - even with the help of Granny Weatherwax and the Nac Mac Feegle, the fightin', thievin' pictsies who are prepared to lay down their lives for their "big wee hag"?

Critic reviews

"Pratchett's one-liners, the comic dialogue of the Feegles, the satire about teenagers and the credulousness of the ordinary folk make for a characteristically entertaining mix." ( Sunday Times)

Fun story and well read

Tony Robinson reads the Tiffany Aching books so well. He has the characters (particularly the Feegals) just right. This is the third book in the series and myself and both my children (aged 12 & 10) enjoyed it very much (more than book two and equal to book one I think).

I wish it was longer

Tony Robinson is the only narrator I think of for terry Pratchett book, he's amazing, especially the voices. I loved it.

A must read for a pratchett fan

Lovely story for all ages that makes you hope you can see the magical dance at the turn of spring and autumn.

The Wintersmith is not a nice person but he wants to be..
