Summary

It wasn't a thing, it was a bit of shaped sky.

Somewhere in a place so far up that there is no down, a ship is waiting to take the nomes home, back to wherever they came from. And one nome, Masklin, knows that they've got to try and contact the ship.

It means going to Florida (wherever that is), then getting to the launch of a communications satellite (whatever that is). A ridiculous plan. Impossible. But Masklin doesn't know this, so he tries to do it anyway. And the first step is to try and hitch a ride on a new kind of truck, a truck with wings.

This is the third book in the Bromeliad Trilogy.

Please note: This is a vintage recording. The audio quality may not be up to modern day standards.

Critic reviews

"The conversational style and fast-moving plot make this cheerful, unpretentious tale useful where there is a need for accessible science fiction, or where the previous volumes have been enjoyed." ( School Library Journal)

Fantastic book, well read

The narrator has just the right style for the nomes, really bringing the story to life in an entertaining and engaging way. I only wish the story was longer!

ILM Sir Terry Pratchett

I so miss Terry.
This is my go to series when I need a lift. It might be 'for kids' but it works for us adults on so many levels.
Read it to your kids, and do the voices. :)
Read it for yourself and be Masklin or Gimma.
Truckers first, Diggers second, Wings last.
