About this listen
When her baby brother is kidnapped by crows, Prue McKeel begins an adventure that will take her and her friend Curtis way beyond her hometown and deep into the Impassable Wilderness.
There they uncover a secret world in the midst of violent upheaval, a world full of warring creatures, peace-loving mystics and powerful figures with the darkest intentions.
What begins as a rescue mission becomes something much bigger as the two friends find themselves entwined in a struggle for the very freedom of this wilderness. A wilderness the locals call Wildwood.

Awful accents, but great story
Fab book, great story, but Amanda Plummer's accents are just terrible. Her accent for the bandits keeps changing from some horrible mishmash of Irish, Scottish, Newcastle, Jamaican, to god only knows what. It is really distracting and a shame. Changing accents many times in one sentence, why did nobody tell her?
As another reviewer said this book also skips in places.
Disappointing

The recording has stuttering and skips
I’m enjoying the story a bunch, and I think Amanda Plummer’s performance is interesting (I like it overall, though it took some getting used to) but the big issue is that the recording itself has audio issues, particularly at the start of chapter 12. Kind of inexcusable to pay for something that’s broken like this, to be honest.

quirky and endearing.
plummer 's performance, I felt, was mesmerising. other reviews say it was awkward and her accents were clumsy.
I felt I was for this very reason that her voice and performance matched the hipster, faux award, nerdy persona that was prevalent through the text. even the art work on and in the hard copy is a child like animation. The puposely imperfect childlike presentation in the narrative is simply, I feel, not an accidental flaw on Plummers part but a reflection on the entire body of work. I honestly don't feel like her accents were offensive (and I'm Irish!). I really loved this I've listened to it in its entirety at least 3 times and occasionally dip in and out of it when looking for a little light hearted day dreaming.. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE PART 2&3 RELEASED.

Narnia but in America
yeah the story wasn't that bad it was a bit of mix of Narnia and Alice in wonderland both at the premise of going to or should I say follow to a fantasy land with talking animal and a evil queen 👑 unlike the other this one was more like a rescue mission I saw few people have probably with the narrator because of the her accents it didn't really bother me it kind of helped it me know who was who by separate the characters with there voices instead of sounding all the same what about story tho it's another portal fantasy for children but it takes itself very seriously yes even with the talking animals the story can takes it self very seriously but it's also innocent to it is a children book after all but I would not be afraid to recommended to adults too

Hmmmm....
If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?
Story is great but the accents are awful... They utterly distracted me from the story and it spoilt it for me.
What did you like best about this story?
The storyline was interesting
What didn’t you like about Amanda Plummer’s performance?
Really not strong on accents at all... Mixed up Northern, Irish and Scottish all in one sentence!?! Dreadful... Would've been far better to avoid them and let the Listener enjoy the story
What character would you cut from Wildwood?
None
Any additional comments?
Quality of the recording isn't great... 3 separate times the recording stutters and stalls and 'jams'. I feel let down & like I wasted my money a bit :(

So disappointed
I don’t know what’s happened but the recording seems to be incomplete. The chapters cut in the middle of sentences and lots of the book appears to be missing. A shame because I know the story and like it very much.

This recording is incomplete
The beginning few chapters are cut short at the ends. What a shame. I feel I’ve really missed out on getting into the story. This should have been checked before being released.
