Summary
From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Giana Darling comes the conclusion to the Anti-Heroes in Love duet, a gripping mafia romance about the capo who will risk everything to keep the woman he loves safe...
I am the hero no one wanted...
I was a murderer.
One of the cruelest and wealthiest men in New York City.
Dante Salvatore, capo of capos.
Yet I had one weakness.
Elena Lombardi.
Cold as ice, sharp as the edge of broken glass, and more beautiful than any woman should have the right to be, she stormed my defenses and razed my life as I knew it to the ground. For her, I would once again play the hero and prove myself worthy of her unconquerable heart.
For her, I would change everything.
I could have left her to the enemies hounding me, but instead, I made the unforgivable decision to take her with me to the old country. Now, there is no other option. In order to keep both of us safe, Elena Lombardi must become my wife.

Swoon
Loved the first installment of this story but I have to say the second part just knocked it out of the park! The world needs more Dante's, his character just grew and grew, with each layer that peeled away we got to know more of what drives this dark and powerful man. I'm so happy this couple got a truly beautiful ending to their love story ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A dramatic end to a great duet
I loved this second part to Elena and Dante's duet! Elena really comes into her own here to stand at Dante's side as his Queen. Not only does she flourish when it comes to intimacy but seeing her become the woman I knew she always was underneath, was like watching an old friend reach their full potential and I was so here for it! Dante is animalistic, he is stern and unforgiving with his enemies; but loyal, warm and loving to his family. Then the way he feels about Elena gah! He cherishes her in every way imaginable.
I think any lovers of Mafia Romance will enjoy this understated romance. I think the coupledom compliments the Mafia elements perfectly. Giana's writing showcased both her character knowledge and her writing skill showing the journey of growth both Dante and Elena took. The sense of family is a prevalent theme throughout too and Elena coming to terms with her fertility, knowing she feels fulfilled by loving Dante was beautiful.
Not only did these two main characters have chemistry by the bucket load *cough* that lemon grove scene* cough; but seeing how they lean on one another to navigate through the Mafia life together, forming their own brand of family can only serve as a strong message to say that with the right people at your side to show you how to love yourself the way you deserve, happiness is soon to follow.
Jeremy and Rose did a fantastic job narrating Dante and Elena's conclusion and it definitely brought the story to life all over again for me.

Fantastic end of the duet
This was my favorite book of 2021 and to be able to listen to it is just incredible. I love the story and the way the narrators bring it the characters to live is awesome.
