Summary

After faking his own death, Kal Hakala is free of the Bureau of Supernatural Investigation and can finally focus his energy on destroying the monster that murdered his sister. With the help of trusted former teammates, he embarks on a quest to find an artifact to activate a magical Tesla Coil, the only device powerful enough to kill a legend. But wherever Kal goes, trouble isn't far behind. It's not easy to locate an artifact without alerting the BSI. Kal narrows his search to Las Vegas, where he and his friends encounter the greatest peril ever to threaten our world - a threat found only in Sin City but rooted in World War II Germany, site of the past's most heinous crimes.

Can Kal overcome an enemy so diabolical, so evil, that annihilating millions is merely one phase of its master plan? The task seems impossible, but for Kal Hakala, the best agent in the BSI's history, the impossible only requires patience and careful planning. Patience is not Kal's strong suit.

Way better than book one!

This story goes places that book one or MHI or Dresden Files has never been. Well worth a listen.

Really good story

What made the experience of listening to What Happens in Vegas, Dies in Vegas the most enjoyable?

It's a good twist on alternate history. Plenty of action, blood and gore, that feels less comic book and slightly more realistic.

What was one of the most memorable moments of What Happens in Vegas, Dies in Vegas?

The short period when the hero is in the past.

What aspect of Damon Abdallah’s performance might you have changed?

I'm sure that the man mispronounces words on purpose, and it is mildly annoying at first and downright distracting the more that it happens. If not for this being a good story, I would have stopped listening to it and not read another.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It starts out fast and funny, literally made me LOL. if you don't have a problem with the narrator, it's easy to become invested in the characters.

Any additional comments?

I had some problems with narrator in the first book, and even more in the second. I hope he doesn't totally ruin the third.

as usual the pronunciation let's the book down

While he could be forgiven the mispronunciation of Vosges, not knowing how to say simple French names and parts of the body goes to show how little preparation he made before narrating the book
