Summary

“You keep what you kill. That’s one law everybody out here respects.”

Twenty years ago, the Merge brought armies of monsters flooding into the West Coast.

Dungeons popped up in shopping malls, airports, and Starbucks. Walls were built to contain the spread, but the promise of priceless loot dropped by the creatures inspired a new type of gold rush. Magical weapons, powerful gear, potions to cure every ill...If you survive long enough to kill the mob, whatever they drop belongs to you.

Clay Jaeger has nothing left outside the walls. Civilization took everything he worked for, chewed it up, and spat it out. Now Clay, his wife Alex, and his beer-loving, chainsaw-toting brother, Joe, are going west to try their hand at monster killing.

The loot from the low-level mobs is enticing, but it isn’t the real reason they risked the Infested Zone. They need to kill a Dungeon Lord. Only one in 10,000 hunters pull it off. The rest become fertilizer for the wasteland. But the few who beat the odds gain riches, glory, and most importantly, the Dungeon Lord’s magical powers.

They have nothing left to lose and everything to gain. If they survive.

Good and entertaining but the brother can be annoying

It is a slightly different litrpg, background setting is enough to make some sense, but plot holes like why don't flying monsters attack the rest of the USA?
Different voices and a nice listen. Joe, main character comic relief not sure is funny more oddball.

A fun and funny adventure

Story was brilliant, characters excellent and the action described perfectly. Could picture the whole thing in my mind easily.
Stats a little repetitive but a couple of skips and they’d be past if you’re not interested. I did think the narrator did a brilliant job of making them sound very automated/computer voice.
This also made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions.
Highly recommend.

Good Story, should have been one book

This is a good story, it's a shame it was split into so many small books. Worth reading if its an omnibus, or included on Audible Plus Catalogue.

Crap...

litRPG is really not my favorite genera and i have only recently stumbled on it.
Listened to one book, much better than this but hoped for more.
Finished an entire series and i loved it, despite the litRPG parts. They were subdued enough to not bother me.
This is crap.
Not even the decency to pretend this is a virtual world or even to acknowledge the characters are in one even if how or why is a mystery to all.
Somehow the real world is merged with RPG dungeons in places with all the stupidity that implies and nobody even raises an eyebrow.
It seems to have humor and it is free but other than this i cannot find anything good.
