About this listen
Everything started the night after Jo’s mother was buried. When someone tried to kill her and she was pulled into something bigger than the mortal world she’d grown up in.
That was when she met Caius, a powerful and dangerous demon hybrid. She doesn’t know why he helped save her life that night; she only knows what she’s been told: The demonborn are enemies.
But the undercurrents in the immortal world run deep and treacherous and her new home isn’t what she thought it was. When she’s thrust into a dangerous journey with Caius and the truth about her heritage is revealed, she soon realizes the man who is supposed to be her enemy may be the only one who can keep her safe.

Wow! Angels, Demons, Reapers and more
This audiobook was outstanding. The way AD Trosper was able to pull me in and keep me intrigued the entire journey was amazing. I was exhausted when I came to the end and immediately purchased book 2 Betrayed. I requested this book in exchange for a honest review and I and ecstatic that I did. The heroine Jo/Josephine did not know her full heritage, even though she was told she was a reaper after her mother's death. Chaos/Kais? is the demon borned Hero that was always honest with her, protective of her, and fought with her. They have been sent on a mission to find out why the lost souls were disappearing. This story resonated with me because if these 2 sides could work together, with all of their differences, why can't we ? The story was fast pace, exciting, detailed with the author's creativity with a touch of romance. I can't wait to hear book 2. The narrators Suzanne T Fortin was excellent and she narrated the majority of the book. Zachary Johnson narrated Chaos thoughts with his dark smoky voice and was a fantastic contrast. Loved loved loved

What a pleasant surprise 💜💜💜💜💜
What a pleasant surprise this book was 💜💜💜💜. It was on my TBL for some time now 😣 but I am glad I got to it.
We follow Jo as she discovers her heritage, new world, now family and... enemies. She is a mixed child that should not be and is therefore hinted by those who want to erase her existence. She finds an unexpected ally into one of the most powerful demonborn, Caius. Together, they are sent into a mission and are magically bonded so as to have more chances at completing their task. And who says bond, say feelings that only complicate things.
I really enjoyed this story because I usually look for the romance development in my reads and everything is supposed to help it grow. Yet in this book, I found myself entertained by the plot itself and the evolution of Jo’s character.
When I saw the two narrators, I was expecting a classic dual pov but I loved that Caius only appears at the end of each chapter. He has very few and yet powerful lines each time. You see the story develops through his lenses. You see his feelings morph into something more romantic and I loved it!
I also love the world building and how it was presented. It felt like being on a guided tour. I love the didactic aspect of it but I wish it was peppered through the story.
And what is not to love about the diverse cast and the easy banter between the “Children” !! James is a favorite of mine and I will dispute a place in his heart to Jo 🙂
I can’t wait to jump into book 2 and hopefully book 3 to know what will happen to Jo and Caius!

Excellent Narrator. Brilliant story. Loved it
Suzanne T Fortin is a brilliant narrator. Usually it take me a couple of chapters to settle with a narrator I have never listened to before, but not her. I relaxed into the book straight away and she did an excellent job with all the characters. The one bad point is there was nowhere near enough of Zachary Johnson....I could have listened to a lot more of him.
I really, really enjoyed the story, it's a great idea and executed beautifully. The world is fabulous and the characters are great. I loved watching how Jo reacted to everything and how she changed throughout the book. And woaaaah Caius, loved him so much. I'm looking forward to the next book....

So good
I received this book free for an honest review.
Jo didn’t know anything about her father until the day her Mother was buried then someone tried to kill her and Caius a powerful Demon hybrid saved her . She was plunged into a world she never knew existed and told her Father was an angel she was sent to be a reaper but things take another twist when both sides try to kill her. I loved this book and gave bought book 2 which I am listening to now. The narraors are perfect but wish Zachary had voiced more of Caius.

Loved it!
Wow this book really caught my attention. I was given a free copy for an honest review and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am really impressed by both the story and the narration. Narrators often irritate me but this was done really well and I wasn't distracted from the storyline once, plus I enjoyed the fact there was a male narrator for the brief male perspective at the end of each chapter.
The story really pulled me in and kept me listening. The MC's discovery of the new world, new role and new self are really well written and the developing relationship throughout the book keeps you on your toes. I was sad it ended!

Unique and imaginative
I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.
This is a really unique and imaginative concept that grabs you straight away. I actually didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did but the more I listened and you hear the sassy strong Jo hearing about just how different life is from what she thought to what is truth you grow to appreciate how much depth this character has. Caius had his single line at the end of each chapter which I thought would drive me bonkers but in the end I sort of craved to hear his thoughts on the current situation even if it was just three words. Again his character is incredible and perfect for this world and plot. I loved the use to reapers in this book as they are very rarely used I feel and it worked so well with this storyline. I definitely look forward to more!

Amazing book.
If you like reading about Angels and Deamons then this is the book for you. Our main female character Jo is strong and brave but tends not to share her feeling. Then main male lead is "evil" but we can see from nearly the start that evil he is not. I cannot wait to move on to the second book. This story is long but not once do you wish for it to hurry up as there is action in every chapter.

Really enjoyed!
The story gripped me straight away. It started emotionally with the main character suffering a loss. After this she finds out more about her heritage from her fathers side. Really enjoyed the story and thought the narration was excellent! Would definitely recommend!
