About this listen
Known for her wonderfully addictive characters, multiple award-winning author Gigi Pandian introduces her newest heroine in this heartfelt series debut. Under Lock & Skeleton Key layers stunning architecture with mouthwatering food in an ode to classic locked-room mysteries that will leave listeners enchanted.
An impossible crime. A family legacy. The intrigue of hidden rooms and secret staircases.
After a disastrous accident derails Tempest Raj’s career, and life, she heads back to her childhood home in California to comfort herself with her grandfather’s Indian home-cooked meals. Though she resists, every day brings her closer to the inevitable: working for her father’s company. Secret Staircase Construction specializes in bringing the magic of childhood to all by transforming clients’ homes with sliding bookcases, intricate locks, backyard treehouses, and hidden reading nooks.
When Tempest visits her dad’s latest renovation project, her former stage double is discovered dead inside a wall that’s supposedly been sealed for more than a century. Fearing she was the intended victim, it’s up to Tempest to solve this seemingly impossible crime. But as she delves further into the mystery, Tempest can’t help but wonder if the Raj family curse that’s plagued her family for generations - something she used to swear didn’t exist - has finally come for her.

Tempest Marvels
A beautifully crafted book by a talented author who never fails to impress, inspire or entertain readers with a unique story with multiple twists, turns or intrigue.
One of my favourite books in decades of reading mystery’s, and Gigi Pandian is a brilliant master wordsmith who never dissatisfies.
Well worth reading and following…

Off-putting accents
I liked the story and have enjoyed other series by this author but I’m afraid as a Scot I found the Scottish accent for the granny in particular very off-putting. I’ll not be buying the other titles in this series.

another great story from Gigi Pandian
I'm a great fan of Gigi Pandian's bookes and this one doesn't disappoint. Great story and characters, and I love all the subtle references to other of her books. It's also great to have Sanjay in the story. My only disappointment was the naration, the Scottish accent was terribl! I guess this sounded fine to a lot of people but as I live in the north of England for me it sounded really bad. Having come to love Julia Motyka from the other books it took a while to settle in with someone new but Iver all it was a really good listen.

Delighted this is on audiobook
I'm a big fan of Gigi Pandian, so discovering these mysteries are now available was a thrill.
I got through the first two books in 2 days so I'd say that makes them a hit. Now I have a wait until 2024 for the next in the series.
The characters are always well drawn and I love the way they cross over from other series, in this case the Jaya Jones mysteries. Nice to have Sanjay and his massive ego here to support the new heroine Tempest.
I'd like to have the recipe for the cardamon shortbread... mouth is still watering!
