About this listen
Look, I had a rough week at work. So I put on a bikini and escape to the beach, where I wind up rescuing the city’s hot new quarterback from a rogue paddleboard, and then he rescues me that night from a s-e-x drought.
Hello O-Town. Nice to see you!
The charmer with the magic hands wants another date too, and I say yes so fast.
But the thing is I’m the team lawyer for The Mercenaries. And the morning after the sexiest night of my life, I find out the guy I plan to see again was just traded to our team.
Dating the brand spanking new star quarterback?
Off-limits.
Especially when my boss blindsides me with this twist–I’m in charge of managing his reputation.
I really shouldn’t invite him over late tonight then.
Truly, I shouldn’t.

The Player and the Executive - Just Perfect
A true romance. Angst free, highly enjoyable, with wonderful characters, both the main characters and the supporting cast alike. As is often the case in LB’s books, the main character, Drew, is the ultimate good guy, the star quarterback, who ultimately doesn’t want a relationship, but never messes women around. Then things change, he meets his guardian angel on the beach, Brooke Holland. It seems that keeping it casual is just not possible, both Drew and Brooke are all in, and things are starting to look really good, until a spanner gets thrown in the works, and things start going downhill. The rapport between Drew and Brooke is contagious, they meld so well together, along with the banter between all the characters, friends and family included, which all made for a truly feel good and highly enjoyable romantic story. And, because it’s Lauren Blakely I just had to listen to the audio version which included the forever swoon-worthy Jason Clarke, and Rose Dioro, both were perfect for their respective characters. Add in a short story and a few teasers at the end, and it’s a five from me.

Great story!
Makes a change to listen to something positive without to much will they won’t they. Not quite sure what the additional epilogue was about as it didn’t flow but loved this great listen and the characters.
