Sam never liked his birthdays because not a single one of them was happy... When he turned 1, he fell face-down into his birthday cake; when he turned 5, he broke his left arm and when he turned 7, he broke his right arm and his left leg; when he turned 12, his house caught fire. Short but sweet YA Romance
80s-era teen angst romance with coming out, falling for the High School jock, and dealing with a birthday curse.
The characters were likeable and relatable, and the sort-of-love triangle kept thinks interesting. I really enjoyed this, plus with Michael Pauley narrating, you're in for a treat!

Young love!
It´s easy to not see what you have infront of you.
A sweet, very enjoyeble young lovestory.
Great job narrator Michael Pauley, hope to hear his voice again soon. First time I´ve listening to him.
The author Perie Wolford are new to me and I´m looking forward to listening on the other books I have from him.

Really cute
This was such a cute story, and I was totally hooked from the beginning as we listen to teenager Sam discuss his fantasies of the school heartthrob. I don't normally go for books written from a teenagers POV, but I saw this was narrated by Michael Pauley and I've yet to find a bad book narrated by him so thought I'd give this a go - I'm so glad I did! The author Perie Wolford was new to me, but I'll definitely listen to more by them.
I totally wasn't expecting this book to go in the direction it did, and I loved it. It was well written and performed, I really believed I was witnessing a teenager's thoughts and actions. It was sweet, a bit angsty at times, with a lovely HE. I really want to hear what's next for Sam, and have the sequel eagerly waiting in my library.
Although we get Sam's steamy fantasies and some reality scenes, I really wanted to hear more at the end between him and his lovely boyfriend. Other than that, thanks for a great story! I'll be back for more from both author and narrator.
