About this listen
From award-winning and international best-selling author Melanie A. Smith comes a steamy stand-alone contemporary romance about life choices, love, and finding yourself in between.
Sometimes you need a bit of tough love to get where you’re supposed to be....
Mia Anderson has been living a life that was chosen for her. But her impending 30th birthday is the wake-up call she needed to stop wasting time on all the wrong pursuits. Just as she’s figuring out what she wants to do about it, her beloved grandmother falls ill and Mia drops everything to be with her. What she didn’t expect to find in her grandmother’s tiny mountain town is the courage to quit working for her father, supplied by a little tough love from her gran. Now faced with an uncertain future, the last thing on her mind is finding love.
Nate Edwards is living a solitary life deep in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. He’s content, or at least he thinks he is—until the granddaughter of a good friend shows up and he starts having feelings he thought he’d never have again. But Mia’s future isn’t in Alpine Ridge, so acting on it would lead to nothing but heartbreak. Still, their connection is undeniable and circumstances continue to push them together, despite their resistance. Will Mia stick to her decision to carve her own path? And if she does, will it be with Nate? Or is he doomed to an isolated life?

Sweet and Delicious!
There is just something so sweet, satisfying and hot about this book. The journey these characters take is challenging and life-affirming. Yes, there is a HEA but that isn't the point. It is a story about two beautifully flawed, but rich in character, people who find themselves by opting to lose parts of their lives. It is about recognizing themselves and finding the strength to accept who they are and what makes them happy in the safety of a partner and friend's support. Love can be tough but it is also beautiful.
This audiobook was very easy to listen to. It was very well performed.

Challenging , emotional, valuable, journey to❤
A Thought-provoking, realistic storyline.
Mia Is the daughter of two self-centred, manipulated parents who force their will on her giving nothing in return. Hence, their relationship is strained and complicated.
After not being the person she wants to be or doing what she really for so long, Mia finally find the strength and stand up to her dad and quit her job. it didn't go well and the death of her loving grandmother makes everything worse. She was still struggling to take charge of her life.
Nate was helping to take care of her grandmother while she was sick. They have great chemistry between them but their relationship was up, down and all over the place. Nevertheless, being a part of each other's lives positively affects them, and encourages them to make the changes they needs to make to take charge of their lives.
The struggles they went through prepared them to be exactly what they are ment to be. It was an emotional and painful journey with great rewards. Now they are both blissfully happy. narrator ✔
