About this listen
Trace Caldo’s smart mouth always gets him in trouble. As the youngest of three brothers, he’s used to scrapping to earn respect. But when he picks a fight with the wrong person, Trace ends up kidnapped, bound, and blindfolded with no hope for escape. And when a beautiful woman comes to his rescue and offers him a way to staying alive, Trace can’t refuse her.
Ana Marie Kelly appears to live a charmed life. Raised in a wealthy family, she has everything a woman can want—if you don’t count freedom. Ana’s always been under her father’s thumb, expected to do as she’s told and not bring shame upon the family. But when Ana makes a mistake that could send her life in a tailspin, she can only think of one way out—the handsome man in her father’s garage.
And their only way out is to say, “I do.”
Torch is the 11th full-length stand-alone novel in the Men of Inked Heatwave series by Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author Chelle Bliss.

Returning to the Caldo family
Part of the wonder of these stories is that, having read (or listened to) all the other stories in the series, it really is like returning to the family fold. I absolutely love seeing the Gallo and Caldo families again, laughing as they rib each other and falling more in love with these many characters. The honesty, the love, the affection weave around the reader drawing us even deeper into each story and the world as a whole.
Trace and Ana were wonderful together. I loved that Ana was a strong character who saved Trace as much as he saved her. The interplay between the characters and the Gallo and Caldo families was perfection. There was plenty of chemistry between the characters that kept me invested in their relationship. And as always, the story unfolded beautifully so that while their relationship moved quickly, it felt natural, since the behaviors of the characters demonstrated respect and love for each other.
Generally a light story, Ana's family was the only dark part of the story, what with him being a crime boss. I loved how that story line was resolved too.
Finally, the narration. What can I say? Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais? They were perfectly cast and as expected, provided a fantastic performance. I loved living through this story via the narration.

Love those Caldos!
Take me to the Caldo's house anytime! Chelle Bliss tells Trace's story and I am swooning! Trace finds himself. in a world of trouble, only to be saved by a beautiful woman. But Ana doesn't do this because she is being nice. She has ulterior motives. In need of a husband to hide her pregnancy doesn't seem like a big price to pay in the big scheme of things, right? Save his life, marry her. But will it work? Her dad is the most dangerous man alive, and when he finds out what has happened, will this ruse actually work? I love this kind of story for several reasons. Those Caldo men are always the most romantic and warm, loving people. The idea of this actually working is incredibly fairy-tale like, and their love story follows that feeling. And lastly, I love true love happy endings! Bliss had me from the start and I could not stop listening to this one. It's fun, flirty, a little suspenseful and full of that Caldo family love.
Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor. I do not need to say more. Crais brings all the intimate feelings with his husky warmth. He gives that feeling of being hugged as he tells the story. Brentmoor is strong, independent and loving. Her ability to let me feel Ana grab on to the family feeling is realistic and wonderful. This was a fabulous listen!

Cute!
Torch was a cute little story where two strangers fell in love against all the odds. Trace was sweet and caring. Ana was fierce but a little irritating when it came to her doubts. The narration was good overall an enjoyable listen.

Fantastic Listen
I found this book really enjoyable to read/ listen, it’s got all the feels with a little bit of sass from the fmc. I finished this book in one sitting with a few Lol moments. It felt like Chelle Bliss was going back to her original Gallo roots.
What can I say Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais bring this book to life with their wonderful narration, Connor’s voice is just so smooth to listen too.

Pleasantly surprised
Love this! After reading the blurb I was not sure how this book was going to go, I was pleasantly surprised. I feel like the timeline in this book was kind of short which I liked b/c that means we get more details on what is happening now. This book held my attention the entire time and the narrators were fabulous as always. Chelle has the BEST narrators for her books.

This one's a little different and I loved it!
I have been a long-time fan of Chelle’s books and have really enjoyed this HEATWAVE second-generation series. This follows all of the cousins and this time it’s Trace (Izzie and James’s son, brother to Rocco and Carmelo).
This book felt completely different from the others at the start and I loved that we’re thrown straight into Trace being bound to a chair after he was k!dnapped. Ana helps save him and the only way to ensure his and her safety is to say, “I do!” This was a new take on the marriage-of-convenience, one-bed, forced-proximity trope. I haven’t read one like this before.
Being back with the Gallos and Caldos for Sunday night dinners and family group text chats was fun. I love all these characters and am always blown away when Samantha pulls 50 million different voices out of the bag for all the characters, and they are identical to the previous book! Phew, that’s a lot of work and I appreciate the attention to detail and consistency across the series! Connor was great as Trace and we soon see him go from the party guy to the protective one. That’s a testament to a solid performance by Connor.
So if you’re looking for something a little different with a decent pace and fun side characters grab TORCH. It’s a standalone in an interconnected series.

Loved It! Amazing Story, Characters & Narration🎧
It is great to be back in Chelle Bliss’ Gallo world, one of my favorite places to spend time in. The heatwave series focuses on the next generation of the Gallos and Caldo family, the children of the characters in the original “Men of Ink” series, I highly recommend both these series, starting with the original is best, to get the most out of this amazing world Bliss created. This book is Trace Caldo’s story, son of Izzy Gallo and James Caldo, and he found himself in deep trouble, kidnapped and tied up not knowing what was going to happen to him, but an unlikely person helps him escape from his unknown fate. Ana Marie Kelly’s father is a powerful and controlling man who wants to dictate her future, a future she is not interested in. When she sees a man tied up in her father’s garage, she knows she should stay away, but doesn’t, instead she unties him, sets him free and tells him where to go. Trace does as instructed and not long after, the woman who saved him shows up and tells him what he needs to do to get her father off of his back. It is not a selfless plan, it works out for her too, since she is pregnant and she knows when her father finds out he is going to lose it. Her safest bet is to marry a stranger, a good-looking stranger. Trace and Ana hit it off right from the start, he hears her out and goes along with the plan, a solution to get her father off of both their backs. She is happy to leave Miami and go with Trace to his home where the two get to know each other and even after finding out who kidnapped Trace and why, he still stood by her side. She did not grow up in a loving family, did not have motherly love, and her father was just cold, so when she saw how the Gallo family was, she was in awe. Trace’s parents accepted her with open arms, and so did his brothers and cousins. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully written and plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humor and witty banter between the Gallos, low angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Chelle Bliss thank you for another wonderfully captivating story.
🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais did an amazing job portraying the characters, giving each their own voice and personality and humanizing them with their emotions. Brentmoor, as always, was spot-on with her portrayal of Ana, and Crais did the same for Trace. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters and handling the witty dialogue too. These two make a great team, their voices and performance complement each other and they are believable in every role they play. They are entertaining storytellers and their narration enhances an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

just can't get enough
I am so invested in these stories, I just simply cannot get enough. I finished this in one day and loved it so much I had to listen to it again. The Gallo's to me are like your favourite prime time sitcom that you look forward to watching every week, so much so that you find yourself watching reruns, just so you can get your fill before next week's episode airs to.
This is full of action, spice, witty banter and characters that you can relate to.

Trace and Ana
The thing I love the most about the Gallo's and Caldo's is the family love and loyalty, Conor and Samantha have brought Trace and Ana's story to life and I couldn't stop listening to it. The book is pretty awesome too.
