About this listen
Can change be so terrible that it's deadly?
Kitty Jones hasn’t known much kindness in her life. Since being given a position at the prestigious Whitman Hotel, she feels that at any moment, it could be ripped from her. Terrified of going back to the horrors of the streets, she does what she knows best to survive - pickpocket.
Vaughn Grant has just come to Colorado to take up the church his cousin left. The change has him excited to leave behind his poor excuse of a past in Indiana. Upon settling in, his path crosses with a beautiful redhead, though not in a circumstance he expected to find a woman in.
Will he be able to help her understand that change isn’t so dreadful and terrifying like she expects, or will Kitty find herself at the end of a hangman’s noose?

Second chances have never been so sweet!
When kitty comes to Colorado, it is after leaving or male or the groom who insisted she was a soil dog. This was after she turned him down and refused to be his second Mormon wife. She gets a job at the fabulous Whitman Hotel, although they consider her a new member of the family, she isn’t so certain her future is secure there and she needs a Plan B. Unfortunately though her Plan B is to steal the life savings from Denver a couple. Thankfully for kitty though they let the new pastor von Grant decide what should happen to her. After all the showers in the victim don’t want to hang a woman! This begins a shaky but eventual trust that forms between kitty and the new pastor. Trust isn’t the only thing that forms between Kenny and Bon. She starts having feelings that she’s never felt about anyone else. Maybe it’s because he helped her become a new person in the eyes of Christ or maybe it’s because she likes the way he calls her Catherine? Whatever it is kidding no she isn’t good enough for the pastor. So she decides to tell Van Grant how she feels and skip town… But there’s no way he’s going to let that happen. This book was so good I love these Whitman stories and can’t get enough of them. I have listen to some of these stories more than once and even more than twice. They are so good and they are action packed and full of love for others and God and it doesn’t get better than that.
