Great little short.

This was a great short, I kinda wanted it to be longer, but with all the twists in it and the chaos, I now know it's not a bad size for what it is.

In regards to the production, I have to admit I'm not a fan of the sounds and extra beeps. The story itself was interesting, held my attention and had that romantic, and scary element to it.

I was expecting the ending, but it was well done. :) If you've an hour to spare this is a fab little story.

I was gifted a copy from the author for an honest review.

Through a glass darkly

Through a glass Darkly is a great short story of science fiction and horror fiction. My only complain is that, it is too short.

A Great Science Fiction Suspense!

What did you like about this audiobook?

Miss Mae does it again! I have to admit I was a little surprised that MM wrote a Science Fiction story, since I'm so used to her edge of the seat romantic suspenses - but this was just as good as all her previous books, and as a S.F. reader and writer myself I love the genre, but it has to be very well written for me to really enjoy it, and 'Through A Glass Darkly' did not disappoint. The action takes place on board a medical transport ship. One realises immediately that the relationship between Vexen Rheinhart and her husband is very close, but unfortunately there is a problem preventing Leland from joining her so he sends a holograph of himself instead - what could possibly go wrong? The answer, in fact, is quite a lot! Her friend and colleague, Rernard and herself have to deal with one emergency after the other, the main one being a rogue computer virus - when all computer viruses are supposed to have been eradicated. This is a fast paced story and kept me guessing all the way. There is just enough technological information to keep it real. The ending has a great twist - the reader is left slightly unsure of the actual outcome, and although this doesn't always work for me, in this instance it certainly did, and ensured that I mulled the story over in my mind for a long time after the final page.If you like your Science Fiction full of action and suspense, with more than a touch of mystery and romance, then this is just the story for you. I have to say I enjoyed listening to the audio version, if anything, even more than reading the book. Owen McCuen did a fantastic job of reading and 'getting into character', and really brought the story to life!

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I love Science Fiction and this book did not diasappoint

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

Just enough technical information to keep the story interesting and believable

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Great narration, really brought the story to life!

Short but great science fiction book

Storyline: This is the first book I have read by Miss Mae and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a Science Fiction story (I’m a big fan) and this book does not disappoint. I teach computer security as a profession so I thoroughly enjoyed the parts that contained computer viruses, but other parts of the book were just as good. The ending made me think of Inception, not because it’s the same ending, but because you’re left in the dark over what the has happened – this is done particularly well.

Narration: I think the narrator did a great job. He succeeded in keeping me engaged throughout his performance and performed the characters very well.

Overall: I look forward to reading more books by Miss Mae and will enjoy listen to the narrator again too!

P.S. This audiobook was provided by the narrator free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
