Random House presents the audiobook edition of This Audiobook Will Send You to Sleep by Professor K. McCoy and Dr Hardwick, read by Bruce Alexander.

Sleep smarter

This Audiobook Will Send You to Sleep makes no claims to be fun or interesting. It is an audiobook you can listen to in full confidence that you will find absolutely nothing to stimulate your brain. An audiobook, like no other, that will afford you much sleep and copious amounts of pointless knowledge.

Where else will you hear about the political crisis in Belgium 2007–2011 or study the growth pattern of holly? And from where else can you find, in one place, an overview of railway gauges, a summary of the administrative bureaucracy of the Byzantine Empire and instructions for the creation of a collapsible music stand?

Prepare to fall fast asleep with the most boring audiobook ever published.

Includes soothing soundscape to help send you to sleep.

It works!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. The majority of the content is actually interesting, but the narrator's tone and tempo never fails to lul me to sleep.

really does send you to sleep

the narrator is good. He has that monotonous tone plus the boring nature of the content which sends you to sleep

Sends me to sleep in about an hour.

It’s been the most effective thing to send me to sleep. Better than zopiclone that keeps me wide awake. Some of the stories I occasionally find quite interesting but I’ll just listen a bit longer and slowly drift off. It’s not perfect, but very good at what it does.

so far so goof

I am currently awful at staying asleep, this book so far does seem to help. The narrators is perfect and it is delivered in the right way. Some of the chapters are annoying as they repeat letters or numbers but I couldn't really comment to much on the rest as I feel asleep and that's the biggest compliment I can give! Well done excellent idea and work.

Reminds me of some of my university lectures!

You know when you're at a really boring lecture or talk and you can't help falling asleep? This is totally that! Can't say I've listened to much of it because it sends me to sleep in a few minutes. Brilliant book for those nights when you can't stop thinking. Perfectly performed in a clear but droney style - honestly idk how they made it without falling asleep themselves! Highly recommended.

An excellent way of ensuring a good night's sleep!

I suffer badly from insomnia induced by chronic pain and have tried ASMR, hypnotherapy, meditation, mood sounds etc etc etc. Some don't work at all, some work well for a while but nothing, until now, has produced night after night of deep sleep and the ability to wake refreshed. Boredom is the answer I've been searching for, literally for years and I highly recommend it! I bought this on a whim, thinking that when it didn't work I could just exchange it for something else...well that definitely won't be happening! The perfect answer and my grateful thanks to the authors.

Calms my puppy like a dream!

I’ve owned this for a number of years and it’s never really worked for me because there are some really interesting bits in it and I perk up to listen to them rather than just drifting off.
However, I’ve just adopted a really hyper puppy and noticed she responded well to regular, calm voices. Remembering this, I started using this when putting her in her crate to sleep. She’s asleep very quickly. Works as well during the day as it does at night.

Great overall but one weird segment

With lots of random segments read in a lovely voice, this is generally really excellent. However, somewhere around chapter 10 there's a segment on heart attacks and health conditions leading to death??? Took me ages to get to sleep after that and I now avoid the later chapters.
