Summary
The thrill of a sleepover becomes sheer terror as kids voice their greatest fears into existence in this cheeky, vividly cinematic tale by bestselling author Edgar Cantero. Lights out.
It’s bad enough that its venom-dripping chelicerae can slice through flesh like warm butter. Worse? It’s right there under the bunk. It’s a fact now. To make it through the night, the children must obey the rules: don’t get out of bed, stay out of the shadows, and don’t wake the beast. But as the threats multiply, so do the rules of survival. And with the safety of dawn still hours away, the fun is just beginning.
Edgar Cantero’s There’s a Giant Trapdoor Spider under Your Bed is part of Dark Corners, a collection of seven heart-stopping short stories by bestselling authors who give you so many new reasons to be afraid. Each story can be read in a single sitting. Or, if you have the nerve, you can listen all by yourself in the dark.

Entertaining
A weird little story, but entertaining. I quite enjoyed it, and really only picked it up at all because of the title

Ok but narration was disappointing
This book works well as a quick little bed time horror story of sorts… despote the lack of actual plot it’s an ok story however I found the narration to be terribly hard to get over. Even in 1.7x speed it seems slowed and the narrator’s Trump impression is less than enjoyable. All in all I found this audiobook less than satisfactory.

childish fun
It reminded me of the powerful imaginations we had as children.
I listened to this book first and thought the whole series was going to be for kids. However, after listening to Hanna beast I realised the audience is more mature but this definitely felt more geared towards a much younger listener.
For £0.77 it was worth it thou. 😁 And there are even some subtitles to encourage acceptance in children, without any song and dance announcements .😁

Goofy narration put me off
I'm sorry to say I could only stand 4 minutes and some seconds of "There's a Giant Trapdoor Spider..." before I had to give up. .. Like listening to Beavis and Butthead 'in conversation'
The thought of another 45-plus minutes was just too much for me to bear.
