Summary
I loathe Alastor Shaw.
The city of San Francisco thinks we’re rival artists.
In truth, we’re predators battling for hunting ground.
We never chased the same prey. Until the night we both laid eyes on Mara Eldritch.
Shaw wants to use her as a pawn in his twisted game.
I’m fixated on her for a different reason.
She makes me feel things I never thought I could feel. Want things I never wanted.
Only she can make me lose control.
I don’t know if I should protect her at all costs…or destroy her before she ruins me.
Mara knows I’m no saint. But she has no idea she’s dancing with the devil….
The Lark Notes:
I have always been fascinated by true crime, as well as by villains and anti-heroes. A serial killer is, of course, the ultimate anti-hero—the baddest of the bad boys. Redeeming a character who starts so evil was a challenge that inspired me to entirely new heights and entirely new depths. Come on this darkly sensual and utterly brain-bending ride with me! — Sophie
There Are No Saints is the first audiobook in the Sinners Duet. Listeners be warned: this audiobook contains extremely dark themes that might be triggering to some. This is a steamy serial killer romance that will take you on a journey through the twisted mind of an artist on the brink of madness.

Serial Killer Romance
There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark is a serial killer romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz. This is the first book in the Sinners Duet.
I absolutely love Sophie's books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am loving the chemistry between Cole and Mara. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Lee and Jeffrey did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like serial killer romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense.

Interesting different take
This was a different take on the normal serial killer romance for me. It was a slow burn and while it was an interesting story, the pace went from fast, slow, and then fast again so it was a little like a rollercoaster. It did keep my attention enough that I am immediately going to listen to the second book in the duet.
I think the narrators did a really good job in bringing Sophie Larks story as while they did both voices for each character in the chapters, it was good.

Mara and Cole
Mara and Cole
Thrills right from the beginning. This author has a way of reeling you right in. Artistic killing in the San Francisco Bay. There are some very deranged minds here. Mara is a down on her luck young artist who captures the eye of someone she shouldn’t. This book has murder, art, sex, intrigue and more. It is book 1 of 2 so plan on getting both. The narration was great. I recommend this duet. Sisters Spotlight 💕

Different and Engrossing
Title: There are No Saints
Author: Sophie Lark
Format: Audio
Narrators: Jeffrey Holz, Lee Daniels
Genre: Dark Romance, Suspense, Serial Killer
Standalone: No - but the cliffhanger isn't too terrible and a perfect place to end the book
Part of a Series: Sinners Duet book 1
POV: Cole, Mara
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
4/5
There Are No Saints is the first books in the Sinners Duet. It's slow, methodical pace ramps up the tension without you even noticing Cole and Mara's story is dark, twisted and engrossing. I loved the push and pull between Cole and Mara with Mara constantly pushing Cole's limits and vice versa. I'm excited to see what will happen next.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsessions and Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Going in blind is the best
Wow, I enjoy this author, so all I knew of this story was the title and that it was a two book series. Loved it. I had no preconceived notions and highly enjoyed every turn and situation that came about. Yummy. Such a good listen and the narrators were amazing!!! They really brought the characters into another dimension for me.

A Mesmerizing Thriller! Excellent Story & Listen🎧
Sophie Lark gives a whole new meaning to “Dark Art” in her thrilling and well written romantic suspense. The story comes with some trigger warnings, but it needs to add another warning stating that once you start, you will not want to stop until you get to the end, because it is so mesmerizing that you need to know what happens next. Mara Eldritch is a struggling artist, working three jobs to rent a room in a house with other starving artists and to rent a studio for her art. She was attending a showing at an art gallery when she unknowingly caught the attention of not one series killer but two, and those two are rivals in art and murdering, despite having different styles in both. Alastor Shaw is cold-hearted and evil thru and thru, but so is Cole Blackwell. Alastor may have started one thing with Mara but it was Cole who was going to finish the job, which is exactly what Alastor intended, but it did not work out the way he thought it would. I admired Mara for her strength, will and ability to adjust to any situation. There are a lot of layers to this dark and twisted story, and it may take you out of your comfort zone at times and even cringe a time or two, but Lark has you so hooked into the story that you can not put it down. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. This is the first of a duet and that ending will want you to pick up the second book right away, luckily it is available . Sophie Lark, thank you for this wild and crazy ride, I enjoyed every word and minute of it.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Lee Daniels’ Mara was perfectly broken and had an inner strength that helps her carry on, while Jeffrey Holz plays the roles of a narcissist and a psychotic madman brilliantly, both were amazing at grasping every side of these character’s personality. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

Stalkers & Serial Killers Oh My!
I love Sophie’s books and this is so different from her previous books. It’s dark and delicious with stalkers and serial killers what more can a girl ask for and Cole and Mara are perfect together .I had already read the book so I was excited to listen and it was amazing and Lee Daniels & Jeffrey Holz narrated perfectly.

Mara and Cole!
Mara is working multiple jobs and can barely afford her rent or food as she tries to follow her dreams of becoming a professional artist. When she attracts the attention of one man she also attracts the attention of another and she is put through a devastating experience that she barely escapes with her life.
Cole is a successful artist who is accustomed to getting what he wants. The first time he sees Mara he is fascinated by her ingenuity and his interest in her places her in danger. Although she has escaped that situation he knows that it would be best to keep his distance however that proves to be impossible even as the danger escalates around her.
Mara is strong, resilient and finds herself in a situation that is spiraling out of control while Cole is a hard character to describe as he is not a good man, but he might just be good for Mara. The narrators did a great job with these complex characters, and I need more of their backstory so I can see the events that shaped them into the people they have become and I am looking forward to the second part of the duet. 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

Dark & Deadly
This was absolutely depraved. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this dark & delicious thing and it was glorious. I can’t wait to see how it ends.
Re-read - this was so good as a reread. I loved the angst and slow burn between Cole & Mara. There is trepidation, reluctance, but also desire and chemistry.
This was so dark and depraved, but I love how it showed Cole growing and learning more about himself because of Mara, I am excited to reread book 2.
